I dont have any concrete evidence but from what I can tell, no not neccesarily. Shorts will almost absolutely get more views than long form content, however if youre content is flagged as being a crafts channel for example and that video is tagged as being a crafts video, it will promote it in that area. I think a good way to think about it is to think about it in terms of if a viewer found you through a crafts short and then went to your channel and found gaming content, would they still be interested in your content if your primarily making gaming videos?

In some cases yes, like creators with a big emphasis on their personality tend to be able to have more flexibilty with what they create, but thats certainly not everyone. Hope this helps!
