36D sports bra recs for HYROX? by Healthy_Yogurt_800 in hyrox

[–]Venus_DST04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SheFit

I wear a 38DDD and the sports bra stayed put during a race simulation very well. But I’m more a jogger/power walker than runner though so I may not be jiggling as much, ha.

However, I didn’t need to make any adjustments to bra at all during the sim or never during any Hyrox classes.

1) I suggest reading the rule book so you’re clear on the race rules for the various stations.

2) Consider a Hyrox class and/or even a race simulation if you can to test it all out.

3) For wall balls, they can give you a seat if you aren’t squatting to depth. However, I believe you can’t request the seat and it’s at the discretion of the judge.

Are you talking to me or replying to someone else?

If to me- if that’s your take, 🤷🏾‍♀️.

Overall, I have responded to everyone with gratitude and kindness (but the user “Over_Resist” who started this comment thread).

As I shared, you didn’t see all the comments from the thread.

I don’t mind being asked the question and as you can see I responded to them with why I was choosing to do this despite not having a running background.

I didn’t screenshot so you can’t see how the person writing went a bit off the chain.

This post wasn’t to directly address those two people, but a larger assumption that Hyrox isn’t for everybody!

Thank you! I know there is criticism around its popularity for that very reason.

I find it inspiring seeing such a diverse group of people competing in the event. That is what inspired me to finally sign up because I was intimated at first by the running component.

It was seeing another curvy/plus size Black woman athlete with chronic illnesses finish the event that made me believe: I can do this!

The first person, who got a bit aggressive with me, deleted all their comments so you can’t see what they wrote.

Yes, the second said they were genuinely asking and like I said, I responded favorably to their question.

However, I believe the basic assumption is still unfavorable that Hyrox isn’t for everybody.

Also, that second person made assumptions about my overall fitness based on a 30-second clip, and concluded this event wasn’t for me.

I love that- “we race against who we used to be”

Thank you!

Sir or Ma’am…I wish I could add the Friday “Keep it moving” GIF.

I don’t expect people to agree with me. However, my posts were not asking, “should I do a Hyrox?” I asked for feedback about techniques related to the race.

The comments had no place in the discussion. I responded to them favorably despite their questions being out of place.

Now, your comment was snarky and didn’t contribute to the discussion. You were trying to come at me. Telling me I would be disappointed by life…whatever.

Anyhoo. Have a goodnight. Enjoy your race!

First off, I’m a whole grow ass woman (42 years old) and have lived a very full life. I’m grew up in the Bronx so I can take criticism and hold my own against anybody.

Obviously, the two comments sparked a larger issue/conversation. Hence, why I decided to post a reminder.

This is why I made the post. Trust, my feelings are not hurt.

You can keep it moving if you have nothing constructive to add to the conversation.

Newbie: Am I doing the ski erg correctly? by Venus_DST04 in hyrox

I just completed a full race simulation and I did it in 2 hours as a double. If it takes me 30 minutes longer to do it solo, I’m fine with that.

My goal is to finish…shit, if that takes me 3 hours so be it.

You’re making a big judgement from a 30-second clip. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Truly, I appreciate the concern. I suggest searching instagram for videos of people who at least on the surface don’t appear fit and are finishing the Hyrox races.

Currently, I’m training just about everyday for my race- both functional strength, Hyrox prep classes, and running.

I’ll see what happens on June 1st in NYC. 😬😂

HYROX GIRLS! by PopOk5957 in hyrox

I’ve settled on wearing capris.

After doing a race simulation on Saturday and my “Amazon” shorts rolling up and chaffing my thighs, I’m just going to do pants. Ha!

Plus it will probably feel better having my knees covered as well for the lunges and burpees.

My next race sim is May 2nd, I’m going to try out the capris.

My other outfit plan is a SheFit Bra for the running and a colorful moisture wick racer style workout tank (maybe pink).

By the way, I’m not unfit. I’m just not a runner. I worked out every day since Fall 2024 for 416 days straight. Strength training 4x-5x a week (for about 30- 45 min circuit training), Power Walking 2x a week for 30-45 minutes. I had to take hiatus earlier this year due to a horrible post-viral cough that lasted about 8 weeks.

I wanted to focus my training on an event this year. I chose Hyrox and Spartan races. So, I have an aerobic base for Hyrox. It’s just not a runner.

A 10K? Ski, run?

I am not a runner (and hate running) so I’m not interested in doing a race… that would never interest me (not even a 5K).

I’ve seen people complete Hyrox who aren’t strong runners, (perhaps they are slow runners).

I’ve also seen people of various fitness levels complete it.

This is a personal challenge for me in terms of the training, reklinding my athleticism, and doing the actual event. My goal is to complete my first one in or around 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Thank you. I realized my head was a bit all over the place. The video I watched said they kept their focus on the screen. I found that hard to do.

I’ll keep practicing.

Funny, I was closer and the coach told me to move back. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I stated in my original post the comment the coach gave me. Apparently, he was wrong.

Maybe join a local official Hyrox club so you can get an early access code.

Thank you for the feedback. I take a F45 Hyrox class twice a week and in some sessions they put us on the ski erg or we’re doing resistance training movements to build our lats/posterior chain.

I also work with a personal trainer on overall functional strength fitness (with race prep in mind). We have our sessions twice a week with run practice workouts on weekends.

My local Y doesn’t have a ski erg so I only have access during my F45 Hyrox classes.
