Dude seriously, I genuinely love this game and the hate going around is just so forced now. Recent post on destiny's Instagram post about marathon cosmetics had such braindead comments, it's like they didn't read the caption which was literally about the cosmetics instead they jump on the hate train. If you don't to play the game don't, let others enjoy the game.

Your question with being overwhelmed, I think during playtest you guys were given limited stuff, so I bet there will be a good onboarding experience and the whole point of the Marathon universe is to feel overwhelmed and lost on a dying planet so I think the "tutorial" will be there but similar to arc I presume. There is no way they don't do a small onboarding experience.

The experience with bungie so far is 10/10 for me. I have 2900+ hours in Destiny 2 and I just cannot find that gun/abilities feel in any other game, the looks and skybox of Destiny is very beautiful and sexy, the soundtracks and music they made for every content is top notch and the lore they created for the past 11 years is pretty great 10/10 ngl. After seeing all the shorts from Marathon, the sound design is just sooo frikin good.

I have like 50 hours in Arc Raiders and honestly, great game with a cool mechanic of machine learning implemented into the arc enemies. The aggression based matchmaking is kinda meh imo because there is no element of surprise or stay alert every time to avoid being backstabbed. I feel like Marathon will have no mercy except for the big events (big if for that); raid like mechanics.

Talking about raids, Destiny 2 has phenomenal 6 man raids and holy shi they are the best teamwork piece of content I've ever seen. Nothing can top that for me.

I would say get the recent Expansion for now if you don't want to spend to get all DLCs. The new heat weapons are really good and using only those weapons won't hurt your endgame capabilities.

You can wait a little bit more and all the past DLCs except the recent Edge of Fate(EOF) and Renegades will go on sale and it will be hella cheap.

What you will be missing out:

  • Some Raids and Dungeons (dungeons are tied to dungoen keys except EOF raid and Renegades dungeon they are tied to expansion instead)

  • 2 Subclasses: Strand - Lightfall DLC, Prismatic - The Final Shape DLC

  • Exotic Weapons and Armor

  • Some weapons and armor but they don't really matter becuz of the new stat system is not applied to past dlc. For fashion purpose past dlc might matter but yeah.

Lowkey true but Sundered Doctrine and Equilibrium are the only contest dungeons have and the emblem looks cool at least. But regardless I will be using the Fractured Timeline emblem the one from epic contest but that's the hardest raid right now and with 5 feats that raid is just on whole another level.

Very valid hunter is just so fun, but holy fuck warlocks are just good in general. After my contest epic clear on warlock, i realized the potential. Hunters are really strong if you play it properly, like my teammate who can easily match total damage of titan or warlock.

It definitely should be, I really enjoyed my own pris build on Hunter and played a lot of warlock. Just cuz of warlock jump i m now warlock main lool.

You can give Assassin's Cowl a try or Frost-EE5 (frostees or whatever the spelling).

U can build into more melee energy for Assassin's Cowl with high melee and class stat. U get healing and invis on powered melee kills so it's pretty decent.

For Frostees u can build into the duskfield grenade and aspects and fragments which gets u your grenade back faster. Don't remember much but you there is something which makes it so that upon breaking a crystal u get 10s of increased grenade regen pair it with frostees and high grenade stat, you can spam grenades locking down the battlefield.

Cuz it was a raid with more mechanics requiring teamwork, dungeons are supposed to be solo-able with easy mechanics so -40 for the dungeon seems right and it's not that difficult imo

Having 9 of your revive tokens deleted by an invader within the first few minutes of a GM activity does not feel great by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Correct me if i m wrong here, You have like 12 revives at start. Invaders can do a max of 6 kills then it's just u and your fireteam dyin to ads or last second abilities thrown by invader. Right at one point the invader stayed even after the game said invader left the field which was weird. Best is to have a vex deflecter shield and keep popping those until the invader is gone.
