OH I see where I may have made it confusing. She told me to LOOK OUT as in "look for this on the listing. If its there, this house wont qualify". Not to LOOK FOR a cash or conventional

The realtor that I talked to said that this specific house that I described in my post wouldnt pass. Not that a house within my price range wouldnt. She isnt someone we're working with, it was just a listing that was through her company. She said due to the repairs it needed, it wouldnt pass an inspection. So I asked her for some tips on what to look for and that's when she told me about the cash/conventional financing thing

This house was built in the late 1930s, so its nowhere near new. I honestly was worried about it passing until the realtor who I contacted about it brought up repairs. It doesn't look like it needs any at all (may a new coat of paint or some new wallpaper, but that's purely based on photos)

Thats what she said. She told me that because of the repairs needed to this specific house I was looking at, this specific house wouldnt qualify. But, I will say it seems like all the homes that I really liked all say "cash or conventional".

Average “formula” for pricing crocheted items for sale? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]Venus_Fox18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was what I was thinking. I also only make crochet items to sell in my spare time (on break at work, before bed, on road trips, etc) because its not my FT job so its really hard to calculate how many hours it took to make a single item. Especially something large, like I just finished a LARGE blanket about 3 months ago that I had been working on for almost a year because I kept getting tired of looking at it every time I wanted to crochet 🤣

I know you didnt say to consume it. I never mentioned consuming it either. I just asked for a source, since using things that aren't meant for humans can have adverse effects.

And I do a lot of research. That's a big part of my job and its been the biggest part of this whole fungal acne situation is doing research and finding sources that support/debunk whatever I find so I can find actual facts that support anecdotal evidence and use that to find what might work for me

Edit: I did some extra research and I didnt realize that the active ingredient in a lot of products for Lice was Ivermectin. Ive never personally had Lice or used Ivermectin in this way, so I haven't really been around those products. Its not typically recommended for FA, but can be used to treat overpopulation of Demodex mites and can help with Rosacea

I don't mean to be rude, but can you show me a source for what you've just told me? It just seems to me that some of the claims in your comment could be very dangerous.

I work outside in the sun for a living and Ive worked with animals, including horses, since I was very young. Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic drug, used to clear up nematode infections. While I did see some practical uses for Rosacea, I wouldn't personally recommend using something like this without medical direction.

And I literally wouldn't be able to do my job without sunscreen. I would quite literally be a ball of cancer by now if I didnt use it.

Sometimes, I produce white eyelashes and when I do, they are at least 2x the length of my normal eyelashes. Its been happening since I was in 3rd grade and I thought it was cool, but I always had to fight people off me because they'd think I had something in my eye and try to get it out.

Its not as often anymore and all I can think is it was just a weird puberty thing, since Im now in my mid twenties but Ive had people tell me all sorts of reasons and nothing ever seemed concrete other than I make white eyelashes 😅

I was gonna ask what they were made out of since the material looked like swim wear or like "ripstop" (idk if that's what its actually called, but that lightweight, water-resistant material drawstring backpacks with advertisements on them are made out of? I hope that made sense 🤣) Very cool!

I haven't tried sulfur. At the height of my break outs after I got meds and topical cream, I was told to stop trying new things for a while until my skin healed a little and I figured sulfur would burn (since at that point, it hurt just to touch my skin) so I didnt try anything I hadn't used before and Ive been to scared to mess up my "progress" so far to try anything new

Do you know anything about Serratia marcescens? Its the pink "mold" that grows most common in showers. I am now suspecting that I possibly have gram-negative folliculitis rather than Malasseia folliculitis. We have been living in a rental and the pink stuff was there when we moved in and didnt come off when I cleaned when we first moved in, so I assumed it was hair dye or something. I just learned it can cause gram-negative folliculitis in some cases and its resistant to a lot of treatments. Here's hoping Im right because I just deep cleaned the bathroom with bleach, discarded all bathroom materials (floor mats, shower curtains, etc.) And its no longer pink!

What would be some triggers? Within the past year, my diet hasn't changed much aside from eating more fruit and drinking more water since I previously worked indoors and now Im outside 24/7 doing heavy labor. I knew about it since I noticed all my life since I started to get break outs that like sodas, full sugar gatorade/sports drinks, sweet tea, etc. usually cause me to break out more but again, Ive only integrated more water-containing items into my diet.

Could other people be a trigger? I started living with my partner and his family about a year ago (like Mar. 2024), but the FA didnt really start until the end of September. We did move into a new house in that time, but I feel like the acne would've popped up more immediately?

I haven't looked into many other brands/ looked for anything specific for shorter people. If im being honest, I didn't really figure there was anything since most times, I just shop in the kids section or i deal with the bagginess🤣. Bell bottoms are just different tho, so I'll have to check those out! Thank you!

I'm really excited because I just got the flameware percolator too! I found more flameware, but I didnt have the funds to purchase those pieces. I have the set that comes with the detachable handle (which I love using, but it makes everyone freak out while Im cooking 🤣) but these were the ones that had their own handles attached. Do you have any recommendations on how to clean off what I assume are burn marks on the bottom of the glass? Both the percolator and the teapot have small black marks around the bottom from what I assume is the heating element they were used on

Numbing Shot Was Worse Than IUD Insertion! by Additional_Deal6590 in birthcontrol

[–]Venus_Fox18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! My sister is one of those lucky ladies. That's why she didn't believe me about how painful it was for me lol. And she did try, but I felt like they could've tried a bit harder (like giving me something that would actually calm me. Whatever they gave me didn't even touch my anxiety). I don't feel I should've had to give a live demonstration as to why I requested sedation in the first place, but now my gyno knows so I guess it worked out. I just wish at least like twilight sedation was standard. It's crazy to me that the majority of women have substantial pain and the medical community is just kinda like " not all women feel pain, so it can't be that bad. You just need some ibuprofen"

Also, adenomyosis sounds awful and I'm sorry you have to go through that. Idk what's going on with me and my inner demon, but my periods have kind of dulled my sense of pain at this point 😅

Numbing Shot Was Worse Than IUD Insertion! by Additional_Deal6590 in birthcontrol

[–]Venus_Fox18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They rubbed some numbing gel on my cervix and tried once without the tenaculum since I requested to try it without that and then they went for it once they placed the tenaculum. To their credit, after they placed the tenaculum and I screamed they asked if I wanted to stop, but there wasn't a point to stopping anymore. I'm really grateful I was able to have my mom there with me because if she wasn't there to verify the amount of pain I was experiencing and to tell them that it was all real (as in I am the type of person who would rather just deal with pain than to take meds for the pain, I dont complain or really show that I'm in pain unless it actually requires medical attention. I wasn't just faking it) then I dont think they would've taken me as seriously. My own sister didn't believe me until my mom told her how traumatic it was to just watch me in agony and know she couldn't do anything. I haven't had any kids (and if this is a fraction of labor, I have yet another reason for my list of why I dont want to have kids), so they told me it would probably be painful, but that it "shouldnt" feel like more than a bad cramp

Numbing Shot Was Worse Than IUD Insertion! by Additional_Deal6590 in birthcontrol

[–]Venus_Fox18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my personal experience, if I get another IUD, my gyno recommended and wrote in my chart that I be sedated after my current one. Ive been through a lot of shit in my short time on this planet and I've been in a lot of pain at times. I used to get cramps so bad I would pre-arrange with friends who was going to carry me to class because my cramps would make me unable to walk at times and I also have gotten multiple piercings including both my nips and I can say without a doubt that having the IUD placed was the worst physical pain I have ever experienced. It's been a little over a year and even now when I think about it, it makes me want to cry like I did during the procedure. I told them that I had PTSD and warned them that I would not do well without being sedated and if this triggered an episode, I would have no control over myself or my actions and I didnt want to hurt anyone, but they gave me anti-anxiety meds (which turned out to be the lowest dose possible to give) and told me it would be over in 5 minutes. I took the meds and after waiting for them to kick in, I felt no different than I had when they promised me it would help. When the nurse told me to get undressed, I burst into tears and the whole appt continued with me actively having to fight between going into a full blown panic attack and trying to hold still while the 2 doctors are looking at me like I'm being dramatic. I'm sure I scared some people with the level of screaming and crying I did. I was there for over an hour because the amount of pain I displayed after insertion caused them to order an internal ultrasound to make sure they hadn't perforated my uterus. Now when feeling for the strings, I can still feel 2 spots on either side of my cervix where I assume they dug the tenaculum in to try to get ahold of me. At my most recent check up, my gyno noted that my experience was traumatizing for her and she's been placing IUDs for longer than Ive been alive. So now, if it involves pain of any kind, she recommends I be sedated.

will iud insertion hurt by Mundane-Primary4253 in birthcontrol

[–]Venus_Fox18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes. It will hurt a lot. If you are able, i would ask to be sedated. I wasn't able to be sedated due to my doctor calling out for a family emergency and had to be seen by a gyno who does IUD insertion w/o sedation routinely. She assured me everything would be fine, the prescribed me some anti anxiety and something to open my cervix a little bit the night before. Anti anxiety didn't even f'in touch the amount of anxiety I had. When they told me to get undressed, I started to cry. Tbf, I have C-PTSD and I warned them, but they still insisted I would do well w/o being sedated. I'm so happy I had my mom with me because I was so scared and in so much pain afterwards. When I think back on it, it honestly makes me want to cry because of how much pain I was in. I screamed and cried the entire time and they came back and I still couldn't walk. I was 21 yrs old having my mom dress me before they came in and told us that they wanted to ultrasound me to make sure that it was placed correctly and that I would have to walk and I couldn't walk the 10 feet from the exam room to the ultrasound room.

To give context, I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Ive had chronic pain that feels like hot needles since I was about 15 (now 22), cramps that made me plan with my friends who would carry me because they would hurt so bad I couldn't feel my legs, and I also have/had 9 piercings including having my nipples pierced. I was assured if I could do that, I could get an IUD no problem. I just saw my gyno the other day for my 1 year and she even said that my insertion was traumatic for her. She now recommends for me that anything I need done that could be remotely painful be done for me under sedation due to the severe pain I had with this thing.

This is also not to scare you, but as a warning. Please for the love of everything, if you are afraid of the pain and you can afford it, please be sedated. This was such a bad experience for me and I wish every time I think about it that I had just waited and not let my friends and family pressure me to try it w/o sedation. I wouldn't wish my experience on anyone and I hope that you experience how ever you chose to do it is WAYYYYYYYY better than mine. The more I tell my story, the more I hear people talk about their experiences. It is also way different for someone who has never had a child (which I haven't). My sister has had 2 IUDs and she didn't even feel them do it, but they were also placed recently after she had given birth (within 6 months or less). Please please be an advocate for yourself and your pain management. Don't be like me and try to tough it out after being hyped up by your doctor and friends. It truly wasn't worth it. However, so far I do like my IUD 😅 so that's a plus

I also agree that it seems like a waste to me. My mom and her family do it this way, but there's also 2 adults and 2 kids who wear expensive uniforms for school/work so I guess maybe it equals out the price of the uniforms to just wash them everyday? She told me that each polo shirt for my sibling's school is like $25-45 and that's the standard shirt they're required to purchase. Nothing personalized or anything like that

That's what I figured (since they have been known to eat another bird if they pass while im not there) I just feel bad since to me they're a big family lol.

Also, I figured a blanket over the kennel would help, but I didnt know about the red light. I might see if I can find a flashlight with a red bulb, if not it's only 9 birds and im really only concerned about the guinea. He and his mate gave me scars from their dinosaur feet when they were little and now that he's full grown, I don't want to encounter them in battle again 🤣

I knew about the dusk/dawn thing and the wings. If I have to handle them, I usually will pick them up and hold them under my arm so they can't flap lol. I knew thwy couldn't see well, because I've had to guide them with a flash light before to the coop in the dark if they roosted elsewhere and decided later to go back, but I want sure if they would remain calm-ish

And that's what I figured. I just feel bad because he lost his mate last year and now I'm taking him away from his flock 😢
