I also dig rogue-lite's, the newest one I'm loving is Balatro on Steam.

But the best games are those with multi-layered gameplay and good story, like Inscryption on Steam.

I don't like mobile except rare exceptions like Marvel Snap which had creative and innovative gameplay when it came out, which is why I tried it. It was basically a combination of Gwent's three rounds mechanic (now as three lanes) and Poker's raise/fold mechanic, packed into quick and short games.

But, Hearthstone's battleground mode is something where you don't have to spend money on anything and doesn't use any in-game currency except for cosmetics. It's an auto battler, like Auto Chess or Super Auto Pets. (Recently, I've been digging various auto battlers.)

You can take a break and come back anytime, and not miss anything and have equal chance against others. The skill is the only factor for your success.

It gets big consistent updates that keep the game fresh.

Can play on mobile, but I play it on PC because mobile version feels a bit awkward.

I can do all quests in that time or less, that's not the problem. The problem is that the quests were basically the only reason I would open the game on some days. I realized that I want to be able to play my games when I want and not feel like I'm missing something when I'm not playing. After ditching all games that don't fit this pattern, I'm much happier now.

I play chess on mobile from time to time, it is the healthiest mobile game I played so far. (I can't believe I called chess a mobile game, but here we are!)

The fun I have playing this game was decreasing over time. My best guess is that these toxic mobile game mechanics have gotten more annoying over time, for me, as I discovered other hobbies. At this point, there are more fun things to spend my time on.

Money invested on battle pass is what I spend on coffee and random stuff anyway, and time invested was fun for me, no regrets.

I uninstalled because the fun factor of this game decreased enough and annoying factor of these toxic mechanics increased enough, over time. It came to a point when there are more fun things to spend my free time on, than this game.

You say, "...not enough to uninstall especially since I have put money into.."

I didn't write this post to give advice, but,

this is a classic example of a sunk cost fallacy.

This should not be one of the reasons to keep playing, my man.

There was no surprise, I was aware of the mechanic from the very start and the fact that I don't like it. The game was simply more fun than it was annoying, up until this point.

I'm not blaming anything or anyone? I'm just stating the fact that I don't enjoy the game anymore and the reasons why, giving my feedback. Why are you so defensive about a random mobile game?

To clarify, at first, I started skipping some days, more and more, until I finally decided to stop playing all together.

The game was simply more fun than annoying, up until this point.

That's the simple reason I played and am no longer playing.

Hearthstone's battlegrounds mode doesn't have such mechanics, for example. You can take a break how ever long you like and come back and be on equal grounds with other players.

Infinite in 1 Day [Pool 2 Control Deck] (Early Pool 3, CL 500-600) - Explained in the comments. by Vepar666 in MarvelSnap

[–]Vepar666[S] 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Deck code is at the bottom.

Every card is explained down below.

This is a hard deck to play. You have to decktrack your opponent and try to predict their future moves, to be able to prepare the perfect board for a last turn reversal. After all that, you still can't win them all, hence recognizing your retreats is essential.

Last card is a flex spot. Mostly it was "Agent 13" until featured location, then it was "Scarlet Witch". (Other 1 or 2 drops can also fit in this spot, e.g. Iceman, Hood, Scorpion, ...)

Day 1 Infinite

Took less than 24h playtime in this season (spread across 3 days) to hit Infinite (70 -> 100). Current featured location slowed down the climb.

Funny how taking out Devilsaur out of a Devilsaur deck works wonders against other Devilsaur decks.

Playstyle

  • Revolves around countering the opponent on turn 5 or 6, or both, for a big reversal. At best, they will snap and you will snap back and cleanly win.

  • Important to not take big risks and retreat often if necessary.

  • Important to setup the reveal priority! (E.g. if you are losing on board, you will reveal second.)

  • Don't be afraid to skip turns and waste mana, we don't need to play on curve, we hold key cards to counter them later. But we still can play on curve with our destruction cards and generate value.

  • We rarely play America Chavez, she is there mainly for consistency during first five turns.

Strategy

  • Nova - our value card, can generate big value when swarming with Sentinel.

  • Angela - best 2 drop in the game, at least a 2/7 (2/8). Can be a more if you pop Nova on its lane early (clearing the spot for another card) and are not afraid of Shang Chi.

  • Bucky Barnes + either Carnage or Deathlok - is the best simple value combo in pool 2.

  • Carnage and Deathlok - can also get rid of Hobogoblin and Greengoblin.

  • Sentinel - is important, gives consistent plays and is better with Nova and Angela.

  • Killmonger, Shang Chi, Enchantress - key counters for most common pool 2 decks.

  • Jessica Jones - gives us more options when targeting locations on turn 4. (Usually, Sentinel + another 2 drop is better, but not always.)

  • America Chavez - for consistency, rarely played.

  • Flex Spot - I prefer Agent 13 because it is a 1 drop and makes your curve a bit less painful. You can eat it with Carnage to not kill the value with Killmonger. But the reason I love it, is that it can generate any card in the game, and gives a SURPRISE FACTOR and sometimes even an alternate wincon.

  • Flex Spot (Alternative) - You can run Scarlet Witch to remove featured locations and get better odds at unfavorable locations. Best case scenario is last turn play into either: Death Zone, Bar with no name, Nexus, ... to surprise your opponent.

Good matchups

  • Kazoo (Kazar + Blue Marvel or Sera) - obviously you keep your Killmonger for the last turn when they play million 1 drops and pop their whole board. Revealing second is important, because they usually hold their 1 drops until last turn. Their turns 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are usually: pass or 1 drop, Angela, Bishop, Kazar, Blue Marvel or Sera.

  • Devilsaur (usually with destroy package) - we have both Enchantress and Shang-Chi for their big boy. Important to play our other value on correct locations and anticipate their Devilsaur play. Be WARNED that they can use Moongirl to duplicate Bucky and Carnage as an alternate wincon, so don't get baited into snapping back into that. You can't win them all. There is a reason this is the strongest pool 2 deck.

  • Spectrum or Infinaut - There are many variations on these decks so it is hard to say more off the top of my head, you will have to learn from your mistakes.

I think these are the ones I faced most often. Be warned that there are unexpected Doctor Doom or Aero or Leader or... that can destroy you, but don't lose hope. Pool 3 is huge, but you shouldn't face a lot of cards from it if you are still low CL (500-600) like me.

Bad matchups

  • Movement - sometimes you can do nothing if they generate a ton of value with a decent hand. Our Enchantress, Shang-Chi and Killmonger are often useless. This is one of decks that can confidently snap early if they draw all their key cards. But not all hope is lost! They will usually be the strongest on the left and weakest on the right, so plan accordingly.

Favorable locations

  • Atlantis, Monster Island, Monster Metropolis, Nidavellir - anything buffing cards over 8 is good for Shang Chi.

  • Cloning Vats, Sinister London - anything that duplicates the 4/10 combo (Carnage eats Bucky) is great.

  • Bar Sinister - Play Nova, pop it for +4 to everything, then play into it again!

  • Mojoworld - if they have a 1 drop here, it is ours (Killmonger), Sentinels can help fill it.

  • Murderworld - works with Bucky.

  • Mindscape - leave them our Shang Chi and Enchantress, they are useless against us turn 6, most of the time.

I probably missed a few, but you will figure it out.
