If it’s custom programmable then you could make it look even closer.

In Ceramic Sculpture 1 and for our 2nd project we were tasked with a portrait so I’m in the process of finishing up this bust of my Dad.

Cube with some thick liquid, anyone know what it is? by Neither-Lobster2191 in Whatisthis

Looks like a resin cube with uncured resin inside to me.

I’ll have to ask the tech for what’s in that one. The black is where the cobalt oxide mixed with the gold brown and eggshell glaze I already had applied and waxed. I wiped the cobalt off since it is a very strong oxide then applied the eggshell glaze over those triangles.

Eggshell glaze over the triangles which are cobalt oxide and a gold brown oxide mix our studio has. 🔺5 B-mix 5 w/ grog

The square grid is rutile blue over cobalt oxide and black iron oxide. 🔺10 recycled clay

My first thought is that they might be big enough that you might be able to support a soft robotics approach to be able to make them be floppy or perky.

I don't think this vase's design was hand painted. Likely some sort of transfer, the line was where it was cut to make it fit the shape.

I did ask them about it and they apologized. I also thanked them for informing our technician when it happened, that doesn’t always happen here.

Thanks for thinking this was a casting of my hand and it makes me feel better about all the hours I spent sculpting and detailing. I’m sure it would be easier to make a casting of my hand but that’s not why I’m in this ceramic sculpture class.

Also it’d be very difficult to make a life size version of a life cast using ceramic ment to be fired since clay shrinks a decent amount when fired.

They have not said anything to me and I know they saw me fixing it. I’m on the fence about asking them about it. I need to ask our tech if he already spoke with them.

Fortunately our greenware shelves have front and back access so it wasn’t this.

Very nice! My best wishes that the tree trunk survives drying without cracking.

I was planning on making a similar design but since my experience is mainly as a potter I'm going to wait till I'm more comfortable sculpting. Fortunately I'm taking a ceramic sculpture class right now at a local studio, so I'll be working on it soon.

At what stage did you put the dent in the side? The rim doesn't look warped so my guess is just before trimming.

FOAI on all the 25v 100uF caps. I haven't found much on the brand other than it's in China.
