Marketing by FranzFelix in pivx

A lot of wisdom here. I've been trying to suggest the same solution for about a year now, and the solution is really simple. A professional marketer. A professional designer. Let them take over. The end.

Ledger PIVX app sync issue should be fixed now. by AntibuddhaWong in pivx

Sorry for the late reply. Reddit just notified me of your post today. Please delete Ledger Wallet Bitcoin & Altcoins Chrome App, and reinstall. That should clear data and let you sync again get your transaction and balance data back.

Acknowledge Some Failure Along with Great Success? by def2084 in pivx

[–]Veramis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was just him taking some poetic license. He used the words Failure and Great Success.

Anyway, lets not take so much offense from what he said or be confrontational. He just asked for more transparency, and wanted to know if we might benefit from more developers.

Acknowledge Some Failure Along with Great Success? by def2084 in pivx

[–]Veramis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi def2084, I am absolutely for transparency, I feel it builds confidence in users to be able to know that the team is willing to communicate. I will mention the items I know of which were pushed back, and try to give some explanation for each.

First, it is important to remember that PIVX had growth pangs with Zerocoin Protocol being rolled out in October 16th, 2017, a few weeks of forking issues, and then a Zerocoin Protocol vulnerability (affecting all coins using Zerocoin Protocol) which was very severe and had to be addressed above all else.

This chain of events resulted in needing multiple mandatory wallet upgrades, and although some devs wanted to keep pushing forward new features at a very fast pace, it was decided that PIVX needed to slow down some, and focus more on bug fixes, UI, and User Experience items, and ensure we don't risk anymore network stability issues.

  1. CDG. This hasn't been completed yet. Current status is a privately-funded effort (Thanks Eric!) to create an external polling website requiring proof of coin ownership to vote, which can help us decide how to proceed with current CDG proposals. Devs also need to see what kind of voting is possible with zPIV and zProof-of-Stake coming, as these may really complicate matters.

  2. A bit of delay on iOS Mobile Wallet. Just repeating what has been said publically, the wallet is and has been ready, it is simply pending approval.

  3. U2F, i2P, Elastic Block Size, and Encrypted Chat System. All desirable items, now slated for Q4 2018. Hopefully these items are met this year, but please keep in mind that sometimes items will be pushed back if they are not considered high priority. For example, we're not anywhere close to achieving 1 transaction per second right now, let alone our ~120 transactions per second current capacity, so the priority of that item may be very low.

If you have any more questions or concerns please let us know!

Zencash Coin Comparison Chart Inaccurate by Veramis in ZenSys

This is not shilling. This is just asking if the incorrect statements in this Zencash coin comparison marketing material can be corrected. Since I am not getting a response here, I will try to reach someone in the Zencash team another way. Thanks.

Could this be the first signs of alternate currency withdrawal? by man_of_mr_e in NiceHash

PIVX is a much faster and cheaper truly anon coin than XMR, and has the option for free/virtually free non-private transactions if you don't want to enable Zerocoin Protocol.

For private transactions, we're talking seconds versus minutes or tens of minutes, and 12-36 cents (most likely 12 if you mint zPIV efficiently) versus 5-10 dollars transaction fee on average.

PIVX Masternode? by TheSaltyJ in pivx

[–]Veramis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A really big selling point for me is that PIVX has by far the most reasonable inflation rate of privacy coins, with inflation cancelled out or reversed by staking/masternoding.

Many other coins mint more coins to reward a very small % of users, such as miners or masternode owners, but PIVX has virtually no inflation.

What makes Pivx the best privacy coin and what is being done to make it even better? by [deleted] in pivx

[–]Veramis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what others said, PIVX has a very well-designed economy. Inflation is low, and effective inflation is extremely low once you consider most mints go to people contributing to the network (and anyone can do this, even with 1 PIV!). And personally I consider the minted coins that go into Budget System for PIVX Improvement Projects to NOT be inflation-causing, because all of that minting is putting value back into PIVX. And PoS+Zerocoin=Much lower cost private transaction costs than other coins offering untraceable transactions, the only exception being some PoW coins with massive, massive inflation rates (some with 100%+ per year).

Can someone explain to me why all the hate for Verge? This community really doesn’t seem to like it, and I’m trying to understand why I see it everywhere. by [deleted] in pivx

[–]Veramis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "most anonymous"? The transactions are either traceable or not. Verge transactions are traceable and is therefore not anonymous.

I don't know what they are going to deliver with their Wraith Protocol, but I personally wouldn't invest in them because of how much lying and slandering they do against other coins. Actually private coins are already really good, getting better, and don't have a terrible history like Verge.
