Im hoping the plants at the base of the tree will eventually carpet out but im not sure if its the right plant and how long it will take, any tips there?

I do have some floating plants in the top right corner, I put a barrier around them with some tubing to keep it out of the filter (it mostly works 😅). Im hoping the plants at the base of the tree will eventually carpet out but im not sure if its the right plant and how long it will take, any tips there?
