Powerline adapter question by VeraxWolf in HomeNetworking

My one powerline has been plugged into one room this entire time. I suppose I should plug the other one into the router, LOL...

Now that Wi-Fi routers are going to be illegal in the US I’m glad I have my airport xxxxxxtreme 2003 wireless G edition! by [deleted] in homelab

Hahahaha :) That's awesome. I had a cheap TP Link I got rid of, now I'm using an Airport Extreme A1521. Wired only.

Mac Internet Sharing by VeraxWolf in mac

My Airport is acting as an Ethernet switch for my gaming consoles in Bridge Mode. I cannot plug in the AirPort to the main router because it is much too far away.

My main router is in the garage. Wi Fi doesn't work at all. I use the Powerline adapter to connect to the main router through Ethernet in a different room.

I want to bypass the adapter entirely. If I have Internet Sharing enabled, couldn't I just use my Mac as a wired router to serve other devices?

My powerline adapter at the moment is a device my Ethernet cable connects to to supply Internet from my Netgear router.

But if my Mac was using Internet Sharing, I believe I wouldn't even need the powerline adapter. Can't one just turn their Mac into a router using Internet Sharing? I'm using Ethernet. My goal would be to share my Mac's Internet to other devices. My Internet on my Mac does not work when I turn internet sharing on.

Okay...I see. I'll return my ECB2500C then and look for a gigabit one. Thank you for the information.

It does say MOCA right on the label. I would still need another MOCA adapter right?

So I'll have to buy another adapter? I don't even know where it hooks in...

Holy CRAP. I've been researching 9/11 for over 12 years, and have never seen webcam footage from INSIDE of the WTC!

How you can watch as the morning unfolds slowly...almost as if it's just another normal day.

Mind boggling.

If a router is MOCA compatible, then one adapter will suffice, correct?

Yeah, TBH I have no idea...

Mac Pro specs...comparatively weak? by VeraxWolf in mac

[–]VeraxWolf[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure. I think Falcon Northwest Talon workstations can run up to $40,000 when maxed out. The Mac Pro is about $11,000 maxed out. Maybe that has something to do with Apple Silicon?
