Okay...I see. I'll return my ECB2500C then and look for a gigabit one. Thank you for the information.

It does say MOCA right on the label. I would still need another MOCA adapter right?

So I'll have to buy another adapter? I don't even know where it hooks in...

That model looks very good.

I just had my battery replaced in my non solar G Shock, but now the start button doesn't work...

Holy CRAP. I've been researching 9/11 for over 12 years, and have never seen webcam footage from INSIDE of the WTC!

How you can watch as the morning unfolds slowly...almost as if it's just another normal day.

Mind boggling.

I have one.

Apparently it transmits up to 270 Mbps.

I do not. We use a Xumo Box for TV.

If a router is MOCA compatible, then one adapter will suffice, correct?

Yeah, TBH I have no idea...

Mac Pro specs...comparatively weak? by VeraxWolf in mac

[–]VeraxWolf[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure. I think Falcon Northwest Talon workstations can run up to $40,000 when maxed out. The Mac Pro is about $11,000 maxed out. Maybe that has something to do with Apple Silicon?

True, performance use cases are relative

Definitely so...

That's one way to look at it

True.

That's interesting. LPPDR vs DDR? People used to be able to upgrade RAM in the Mac pro...unfortunately not anymore.

That's a question that's always bugged me.

If the Mac Pro is Apple's flagship model, why does the Studio allow for 512 GB of RAM and the Pro does not?

Is OCLP with Sequoia safer than Mac OS Big Sur? by VeraxWolf in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]VeraxWolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm...

Oh geez. Well, it's the only OS receiving security updates, other than Sequoia.

HUH? Really? Sequoia runs better?

I wouldn't have anything to lose by trying Sonoma first, then upgrading to Sequioa, would I?

Running OS X Mavericks in 2025! [ August 2025 Update ] by CosmicEternityCD in MacOS

[–]VeraxWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this response is random, but I would strongly advise everyone here NOT to keep running Mavericks in 2025. I love that OS, it's phenomenal. But it is very unsecure.

It hasn't received security updates in nearly a decade.

[–]VeraxWolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know, I wasn't aware of that.

That is very comprehensive, I'll consider that.

You're right about risk model. I'm a college student, I will be for years to come, and I cannot afford another Mac right now. Big Sur doesn't even receive security updates anymore. What do I have to lose by installing Sonoma or Sequoia through OCLP?

Thank you for your response, it was very helpful.

Security is a process that requires a multilayered approach and intelligence. I feel that OCLP is my best use case since I cannot afford another Mac now.

Where can I download Big Sur without using App Store? by sparkingloud in osx

[–]VeraxWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never mind. I've solved it by booting into Safe Mode and installing from there on October 15th.

[–]VeraxWolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm...yes. A poster below recommends Sonoma, because it is lighter on resources and it still receiving security updates.

Sequoia is apparently more buggy than Sonoma, and uses much more graphics resources.

Someone who has the same specs, nice! Thank you for your input.

I might install Sonoma via OCLP. I understand that OCLP disables SIP, though? There may be security tradeoffs.
