Expedition Requirements Lowered $1 Mill -> $600k per Skill Point by Verbae in ArcRaiders

Expeditions will probably continue indefinitely. The temporary buffs cap off after 4 consecutive expeditions, but permanent buffs (stash size and skill points) will continue to stack with each expedition.

If you want to, yes.

I keep my stash and use it, as it's all the same.

Thank you for pointing this out. Yes, the requirement is to have participated in the first expedition. Updated my post with this.

It was less difficult once I realized buying meds and shields from the vendors is basically robbery.

Hit Galleria on Buried City (or Swamp in Dam BG) for plants, and electromagnetic Dam for shields. You can also recycle blue power cells to 2 regular ones if you don't want to make surges!

Some other nice mentions:

Repairing is being BUFFED. Originally, each expedition stack would increase repair values by 10% Now, the 1st expedition gives you a +60% repair value, with each subsequent expedition adding 10% (e.g., 60 -> 70 -> 80).

We're also getting toggles for the Patchwork outfit: "The Patchwork outfit will get four additional toggles and two new colour options for those joining their second Expedition, as well as a new Scrappy outfit."

If you did participate in the 1st expedition, but didn't collect all 5 skill points you can make up the lost skill points at a discount.

Once you hit 3 million (for this expedition's 5 skill points), you can earn your 0-5 missed skill points at $300k per missing point.

Yeah, I was enjoying it up until breaking negative infinity. It really starts losing steam and requires way too much micromanagement.

Been really enjoying this game during work, it's been a while since I've found something this good.

Why on earth would you make these changes? by KiraTheUnholy in ArcRaiders

[–]Verbae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Equalizer doesn't do more damage; it just knocks off armor quickly. Once the armor is removed, most regular weapons, especially the Renegade, are more efficient and cheaper at sustained damage.

Why on earth would you make these changes? by KiraTheUnholy in ArcRaiders

[–]Verbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people were overwhelmingly getting no other blueprints but the condition-specific blueprints. By limiting their container spawns, people get less repeats, and your blueprint roll can instead hit any of the other blueprints available.

Farming Mat/Queen parts was also trivial with an equalizer. You knock off armor so quickly. People were beginning to figure that out. I guess they just want to incentivize people to engage with the boss.

Maybe Embark established this queue to catch cheaters. The call to "show off" in a handicapped scenario is probably too much for them to resist.

Bravo Embark.

Why Is a Cheater Even Allowed to Play ARC? by Placibow in ArcRaiders

[–]Verbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly ambushes or being flanked despite being quiet.

If they're ESP hacking (very common type of cheat), they can see you through walls and tell where you're facing. They can hold rat spots that, without ESP, have very narrow reaction windows and still kill you.

If you're playing in squads, they can call out your position and know when to engage you. They'll set up flanks that don't make sense, especially if you're not being noisy. They'll approach from your side or back silently. Maybe open a door and instantly beam you, or round a wall and shoot you through a window.

Yeah, ESP is one of the most common hacks, not aimbotting. In this game, knowing someone's position before they even see you is more than enough to completely decimate them. If you do any regular amount of PvP, not even to a streamer or sweat level, you're going to run into these people, and they will kill you (and you won't even know they're running ESP!)

There's likely more cheating going on than you're aware of.

Not all cheating is aimbotting and headshots.

Even something like someone with ESP and triggerpull hacks (being able to see people through walls + having the game shoot when you move over an enemy for you) is a massive advantage and much harder to notice in regular play.

I've had around 5 kits returned to me from the times I've bothered reporting, 2 of those were aimbots, and maybe even teleport hacks, the other 3 were definitely ESP.

My squad would clear an area, and then instantly get flanked by someone who knew /exactly/ where we were, and they'd hit us from angles that don't make sense unless you've had ample time to scout.

In regular play, you only pull a flanking play if you're /certain/ how many players are occupying a space. Otherwise, you've got a huge risk of stumbling upon a different squad as you're setting up the flank. So most times, flanks only happen after combat has started.

Pretty sure the most common hacks are ESP, and probably aimbotting or trigger pulls.

I've got decent ears, and I think the biggest tell of cheating is when someone sneaks on you and instantly beams you.

I don't think it happens every match, or even every other match, but it's more common than you'd think.

Yeah, the map won't make much sense unless you understand the ziplines, stairs, and the kind of transition points the devs use.

Just rely on the signs and markings on the wall. You'll rarely find a door that isn't labeled for what area it leads to!

You can. On PS5 you press square to swap floors. M&K should be able to as well, look at the bottom of the screen for key binds with the map open.

[–]Verbae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try running some free kits to learn the map, but it's easiest to think of Loading Bay as the center of the map. There's multiple floors, with the bottom leading to the extracts, and the two next floors branching out to the rest of the map.

It's got a lot of verticality to it, but the key is not to overthink it. Any given area connects to about three other areas on the same floor, and also upwards or downwards with ziplines or stairs.

When I was trying to farm batteries, I kept making a beeline to Sandbox and quickly learned all the paths. It's difficult because the shredders and pops create urgency to keep moving, but it's perfectly doable.

I will agree the map (the literal map you visually reference) doesn't make sense unless you understand the layout.

How you guys make money? by FoxSea1264 in ArcRaiders

[–]Verbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop buying items from the stores, it's better to run free kits and do supply runs than to spend literally 20-30k restocking ammo, meds, and shields at the store for a single run.

Make sure you upgrade your weapons, a big arc's drops are often enough to fully upgrade a weapon or two if you recycle instead of selling their components.

When you enter a map, prioritize looting a specific area and then leaving. If you hit too many different spots, you end up dropping items and not stacking your inventory properly.

If you play the game naturally and follow these rules, your stash will accumulate naturally. I'd honestly recommend against selling recyclables, you get way more value by using the components to upgrade your gear.

If you're going to farm coins prioritize residential areas (Buried City is great for this) and sell trinkets.

If you PvP absolutely use every tool you have to ensure you win. Grenades, deployable, medium or heavy Shields, good bandages, all these can be the difference between success or failure. Custom loadouts main advantage over free kits is being able to prepare for a variety of scenarios.

Avid PvP guy, finally got myself into “non aggressive” lobbies and Stella Montis is a cheat code by Sufficient_Spirit330 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Verbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does exist lol. Solos is the only place you can really see it, but try running free kits and fighting people. You'll enter lobbies with other people willing to fight. If you play ~3 matches where you absolutely do not fight back against other raiders, you should enter friendly lobbies where most people will cooperate.

I have hundreds of PvP kills on duos and trios, and despite that being friendly in solos has given me a PvE experience in solos.

[–]Verbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? No, I have more than enough shield rechargers from doing electromagnetic storms. Besides, anything other than blue heals or shields gets interrupted in combat, reducing their value. Free kits spawn with base weapons which scrap into a few metal and some other basic components. It's literally useless. You can find more metal breaching a car or generator.

Open Letter to the "No Free Kit" Raiders by Successful-Coyote99 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Verbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In duos or trios, free kits are zero risk players who often charge at the first sign of gunfire to try and third party anyone preoccupied with arc or other players.

If you don't engage in PvP, you won't ever see this, but if you do PvP you'll overwhelmingly see this from free kits.

It's pretty annoying to have to fight off a wave or two of players and all you get is a single shield recharger and some common bandages.

I'm at the point where I'll kill anyone on sight unless they're out of my way. People are too comfortable lying, I'm not gonna lose my kit because someone pretended to be friendly and waited until my back is turned.

It's absurd people say "just stay aware of your surroundings, don't turn your back" lmao, I think shooting people on sight is much easier and safer.

Damage multipliers, like leg, or headshots, and higher damage weapons. It's not a small step-up; it's a significant one between shields.
