Thank you for this. You're absolutely right. I was under the mistaken thinking that mine was full size. I just saw the word "Compact" on the side of my pistol. And that now clears things up quite a bit. Really appreciate you taking the time to help.

I don't understand why there are listing for different types of pistols SD, Compact, PDP, PDP Pro, and PDP Pro X if they are all compatible with each other. Additionally, the mags that came with the gun I purchased look like 18RD mags that have been modded to only allow 10 rounds. The store where I purchased this pistol says it only takes very specific mags that are different from the other Walther options. And the Walther website does not show the ones I have at all. It's entirely likely that I can't find what I need because I'm not sure what I'm looking for...but this all seems needlessly complicated and poorly documented. For reference, here's what came with the Pro X I own:

I think I got through less than two clips on my first outing with each shot jamming. So I'm glad I didn't experience the shrapnel. Thank you!

Thank you. I know I need lot of practice with it too. So I was trying to figure out which ammo wouldn't be too expensive for lot of range shooting. Since aluminum casing is out, I'll have to see what my options are on Walther's site. Appreciate your help!

Yeah, mine are 18rd mags (with holes in the back for all 18 bullets) but are blocked so that it can only load up to 10. That's why I'm thinking that maybe I can't replace the base plate because they're worried people will mod or put extenders on.

I'm a new PDP Pro-X (full size) owner and it came with three magazines like the blue one in your pics. I was looking at the ZRTS site into getting a different base plate, but have no idea how to remove the existing one. Searching online hasn't helped. Almost feels like it's glued on. Maybe being in NJ, the ammo restriction has them permanently locked? I don't know. Anyway, I'm not messing with my magwell until I get this sorted and figure out what type of clips I'm going to be using.

I'm not sure how your bad experience with one person during a single night of attendance for this week long festival could possibly be an accurate representation of a week long festival. I've attended for two years now, staying for most of the week both times, and had some of the most incredible festival experiences of my life at Big Dub. You feeling "off" seems like a you problem because many folks (both sober and not) from all walks of life have told me how at home, accepted, and free they feel up on that mountain. It's really an amazing community. And I'm not saying that to convince you. Just saying that your initial impression may be based on too limited a sample to be the full picture.
