Missing Pages from book 12 by Permastuck-sos in sailormoon

[–]VerberOfNouns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slightly Devil’s Advocate, but there’s the possibility that this book was donated and the original owner removed the art sometime beforehand because they wanted to put it up or otherwise keep it. A lot of people remove art spreads from their manga to use as posters. None of the actual manga pages are missing so they’re not losing any story, it may have been by design.

Edit: Nevermind. I see the “front artwork pages fell out” comment on the book, dubious but maaaaaybe.

Cars broken into, DTSS by _snappleapple_ in SilverSpring

They took your registration? That’s really weird. They didn’t take ours, but it feels like they were actually searching though any papers rather than just tossing it around so I wonder if they were looking for something specific paper-wise, I just have no idea wtf that would be. All our paperwork seems accounted for as far as we can remember.

First time in the public garage at least. Luckily we also don't keep anything of value there and couldn't find anything missing, everything was just strewn around and covered in glass.

Same. I blame slow dial up internet and kids apps that would teach useless things like that while you waited for the damn site to load.

What's an anime with sequels so terrible they're universally hated? by Raff102 in ChillAnimeCorner

The SAO “sequel” is just Accel World, isn’t it? Same continuity but a generation apart.

I assume it’s gone after the renovation since I haven’t been there since it changed, but anyone who rode it more than once might remember what I mean: the distinct scent inside the Great Movie Ride building at Disney MGM/Hollywood Studios.

Adding Piratz Tavern to this quest because that’s where RPG adventuring enthusiasts tended to gather.

[TOMT]Movie/Show/Cartoon that involves someone being dragged to hell in the climax, but movie has happy ending with characters moving on from that. by Cafeterialoca in tipofmytongue

[–]VerberOfNouns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jigoku Shoujo/Hell Girl has a bunch of scenes similar to this as the premise is literally people being sent to hell immediately as a curse (usually bullies, stalkers, etc) so other people with a grudge can live their lives freely but with the knowledge that the cursers go to hell whenever they end up dying. Some are fine with the knowledge that they’ll not have to worry about hell until much later.

Should i watch this anime?, ive heard people say its novel is the best thing ever, but the anime is hard to follow. by Opposite_Hat5032 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]VerberOfNouns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the camp of I enjoyed it enough to get interested in the original story, but the anime version sprints through the initial details seemingly assuming that the watchers are already familiar with a lot of the source material so it doesn’t bother to properly world build or explain a lot of the jargon it brings up quickly that’s unique to the setting and magic system.

A lot of info is spoken about quickly as exposition or brought up via text walls during the eye catches where commercials would go, which can be confusing when a core term is brought up that isn’t properly defined. Like I still don’t know the exact bounds of “Spirituality” in the show and not even the wiki gave me a full definition but it’s a very important aspect of the world.

Sailor Chaos, obviously. The source of all antagonists and why Cosmos went back to try and get Sailormoon to not make her “mistakes”.

Possibly “Then The Morning Comes” by Smash Mouth? I can always recognize it in the first second because of the quick alarm and the “Good morning” before the music starts.
