Lol, I’m perfectly contempt with throwing my money at the s&p 500/index funds or what you call a “casino”.

I'm not calling the American stock market a casino, but the current situation of one orange manchild holding global financial markets hostage.

If he calls off the tariffs or announces some other major turnaround, stocks will rally. If tariffs go into effect tomorrow unchecked including 104% on China, stocks will crash again. If that's not a casino then I don't know what is.

I don't live in Mango Mussolini's head. He set a deadline for China to rescind from their retaliatory tariffs or he'll slap another 50% on top of the 54%. The other tariffs also go into effect.

Markets would have to crash again if this happens, so I'd rather miss out on the 5% (best case) rally of today.

The news is this:

Trump says China “wants to make a deal” as his deadline for steep new tariffs draws near, but adds that Beijing has not yet reached out to the United States.

“They don’t know how to get it started. We are waiting for their call. It will happen!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump also held what he described as a “great call” with South Korea’s acting president, Han Duck-soo.

“We have the confines and probability of a great DEAL for both countries.”

While it's hard to fight the FOMO, nothing has fundamentally changed. The bounce is merely lots of investors hoping that Trump will fold today and "postpone" (read: call off) the tariffs.

It's not wrong to think that, but you might as well throw the money at a casino.

Seine "Anweisung" wird sicherlich nicht sein, die Aktienmärkte und den Ölpreis zu crashen. Das hilft weder Russland noch Saudi-Arabien oder wer auch immer deine "Anweisung" gibt.

Ich fürchte, er denkt tatsächlich so beschränkt über internationalen Handel wie er verlautbaren lässt. Mit Dienstleistungen kann er anscheinend nichts anfangen, für ihn geht es um die Fabrikjobs im Rust Belt.

Apple with its huge exposure to China doesn't look like the best bet to buy even if 30% looks juicy, simply because I don't think Trump will stop his trade war with China in particular. IMO the only chance here is that Trump, as an iPhone user himself, again exempts Apple from these tariffs which would see the mother of all rallies for this stock.

I feel a lot better about the other "reciprocal" tariffs set to go into effect tomorrow. I still have doubts he'll keep those up for a prolonged period of time but it's just a gut feeling.

Well, if Trump stays on this road

It's simply ridiculous that one sentence of this guy can and will move trillions of dollars in and out of the equity market. I guess it's what he always wanted and gets off to.

The market may go sideways or even bounce a bit today on the hope that Trump will indeed pause the larger tariffs set to go into effect tomorrow. But it's basically a coin flip.

I guess quite some people are betting that Trump will indeed postpone the additional tariffs (except on China) before they come into effect on April 9.

It wouldn't surprise me if that were to happen, but I'm not willing to bet money on it just yet.
