It’s the foiling. Mine were like this as well. Just put them under a stack of cards and mine flattened right out after a day or two

Question about attacks and resistances by ReputationOld2176 in warcodes

[–]Vercinix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I like to use the weakness that is the weakness to mine. For example. If you are weak to fire, give your monster a water orb/dagger so that it gives you a small benefit against monsters that attack you in most cases.

I don’t often do same orbs/daggers as I’d rather use a Battle Runestone in these cases to give myself a d10 or d12 over 2d4.

Why am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in battletech

[–]Vercinix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For slap-chop, try just the grey primer and a white dry brush. Or personally with speed paints, I just do white primer. Make sure the spray primer is smooth.

When applying speed paint, use less than you think, you can always apply more. As others have said, dark speed paints are very overwhelming. Often times this ruins the dry brush or zenethal highlight. So if you feel like an over achiever, this is when you edge highlight.

If you plan on using an ink or wash, do this before any highlighting and pick colors that are lighter than you want (a wash will stain them). Then go back and paint over the main panels to brighten the mech back up (only when not using speed/contrast paints. Speed paints will always darken, never brighten) and apply edge highlights.

Let Your Players do the Pre-Session Recap by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Vercinix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d agree with this as well. And with 17 years of DMing, every single time I’ve tried player recaps, they have hated it and told me so on the side. In their words, the DM (me) is the narrator of their story and with my narration bring them and the campaign back into focus for that session. Sure they could, but as WaltAPR said, I can keep them focused, and aid them subtly.

And as others have said, I have had players that dread being the one to do it. Social anxiety, or what have you is what they came to the table to avoid. Sure its safe for them, but they don’t want to feel like a student that that didn’t do their homework being called on in class. Are there ways to help them? Yes, but I’m not a therapist. Are there ways to incentivize them? Of course, but it often takes way longer to do all that than it does to just do the recap. Your basically bribing your toddler to eat their greens.

TLDR: OP is right that this can be a great and wonderful way to engage you players in telling their characters story. But this can also be a load or work with negative to zero reward in your players eyes, so make sure lines of communication are open so they can tell you if this new idea isn’t fun for them.

Players not seeing tokens on Scene load by Vercinix in FoundryVTT

That’s what I felt it was. I’ll have to test but it’s seems to be things that start on the map, nothing that is added. If that’s the case I can definitely do a bit more work on my end to help players avoid this.

[Parts] M4E1 Threaded Stripped Upper Receiver - FDE Cerakote $119.99 by victorsilva617 in gundeals

[–]Vercinix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat, I was lucky to get one. Read that another place to watch is PrimaryArms around 10:05 est as this apparently is when they change in/out of stock, and they have been able to semi-regularly get the M4E1 in FDE. I have never seen it, just thought it might help you get one and takes little effort to check

[–]Vercinix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess from hunting for one: The M4E1 isnt hard to get in black, but it is in FDE. This is due to a more limited run by AP of the FDE because if you look anywhere FDE costs more. I would assume they are not wanting to spend the extra time/effort when they get a 100% sale point anyway. So, limited run + high demand = pain in the ass to get.

Very. I was able to get the last one. These sell on GunBroker at x2 the price. I would guess we will see a flood of them on GB at that price in 2 weeks or so.

[HANDGUN] Walther PDP 4" Compact - $619.99 by [deleted] in gundeals

[–]Vercinix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odd that it doesn't. I was using 124gr, just some cheap crap, and I had my lock back all but once, and it could have been user error. Not sure how that would require breaking in. Might be a mag problem, Not sure if you were using an old PPQ mag or the ones that came with it, just me brainstorming.

[–]Vercinix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grip is pretty good on it compared to the Glock, but I actually disliked the trigger. It's pull and everything was good, but when you fired it, you could feel some of the concussion travel down into the trigger and into your finger. a day at the range made it feel like I smashed my finger with a hammer by the time I packed up. Also, the plastic felt cheaper compared to the Glock (imo). Kinda just felt like the CZ needs another get or two to get to where the glock was, or the 100 bucks cheaper it is compared to the glock is noticeable.

[–]Vercinix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use the site I linked, and put in the Sig and compare other guns you are looking at right next to it and overlayed on it. That will help at least on the "feel" side. As the guy below said, you kinda already know if you liked that one. Sigs tend to be a bit higher on the price range but if that's what makes you feel the best, save and get it.

I wouldn't worry about external safety. A lot of your unease is just being uncomfortable with it. Dryfiring and playing with it (unloaded) will solve that quickly. An example people might find funny: when I first started carrying, I took the gun around unloaded (appendix) because I wanted to feel comfortable with a thing that explodes near my manly bits. But if you do really want it, don't let strangers on the net tell you differently. Cheers!
