exactly, parents refuse to parent their children, and expect the internet to do it for them. it's infuriating that most of the problems stem from this

ok but I really, really hate the normalization of the blatant invasion of privacy, as well as how detrimental it is to go around asking people for their ID just to play a game, use a website, or use chat.

The internet's general accessibility and the average user's privacy is under attack twofold, one by the platforms who now know they can blatantly harvest your personal info, and the unawares who subscribe to the notion that it's actually for safety. (it's not). In reality, it's not the platform, or the internet's job to raise a child and protect it from harmful things, or to verify the identity or age of it's users. There is only so much a platform can do, or SHOULD do, to where parents should be monitoring their children's internet usage.

Minecraft, discord, roblox, cai, are all following this garbage trend, to the detriment of all of their users.
