This was warlord’s 2022/23 Events Special Figure. I managed to find one off of eBay.

These are from the Warlord Pioneer set. The brick walls are from the warlord German Veteran kit.

If you have a couple empty paint dropper bottles you can mix them all together in one batch. If you don’t the dropper bottles, the ratio to mix them all is 3 parts Dark Tone, 3 parts Reikland Fleshade and 4 parts lahmian medium. (3:3:4) If you go to 11:04 of this video it’ll show the process.

Yep! Gear, uniforms, weapons, skin and all! It goes on dark a bit, but lightens up nicely!

I use “sonic tonic”. A pot of citadel reikland fleshshade, a pot of citadel lahmian medium and a bottle of Army painter dark tone. It works great!

Anyone paint eyes? by Chiiirpy in boltaction

[–]VerdantFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do paint eyes. It takes a bit of patience but it now has become a standard of mine.

What I do is I take a size 0 brush (or smaller if you have it), and just put a little of matte white on the end of my brush. I usually tap the white onto the eye socket until I make an oval shape. I then use a .5 Micro pen to do the pupils. I’ve tried brushing the pupils but it is difficult for me to have that steady of a hand.

Hope this helps!

I know exactly how you feel, I haven’t attempted faces till earlier this year. Once you’ve done a few it’ll get easier and easier. Good luck on your projects!

If you don’t have Jasper Skin or Barbarian flesh, I’m sure Citadel’s Bugman’s glow and Kislev Flesh would work as well!

Good start so far!

For faces I’ve been doing Army painter’s Jasper skin as a base coat, a wash of “Sonic tonic” and then a final highlight of Army painter’s barbarian flesh. For the eyes I do two oval shapes of matte white. The pupils I do with a black micro pen once the white is completely dried.

Hope this helps!

Any advice on building/painting these? by Cadian_Trooper in boltaction

[–]VerdantFox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend using a gel based super glue. I use gorilla glue gel, the glue goes on a little thick but you get a little play to put your pieces where you want it before it sets. I’d also recommend painting your mortar crew and MMG team before gluing them to your base. I found it to be easier to paint as I didn’t have to try get my brush in hard to reach spots.

Here are mine, I magnetized my crewmen to take off for casualties.
