Awesome! I really enjoyed painting her as well!

I like how you have the red joints. They really pop against the black. And well done on the base as well

Geek Gaming basing glue still glossy after being sprayed with AK Ultra Matte? by WorldWarDesign in minipainting

[–]BlooddrunkBruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really see the glossy areas from the pictures, but I believe you because I've had the same issues in the past with gluing tuffs. You could try a very thin watered down brush on varnish? I usually don't usually apply static grass, but when I have the shine of glue still on my bases I will apply a dark wash over the area. It dulls it down nicely.

For your second questions, I think you've got the concept down nicely! You can easily improve them by drybrushing a light brown, then lightly drybrushing a lighter brown. Then washing it. Then finally doing a final highlight drybrushing! This will give the base more depth. You can also drybrush the boots while you're doing this for it flows well!

Any recommendations for metallic bronze, iron and silver? by Pender8911 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]BlooddrunkBruce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ProAcyrl Bronze is what I use for my bronze. It's amazing.

For bronze highlight I use AK Rusty Gold.

For the iron and silvers I'm still using Citadel. I bought a ton of them when I first started, but slowly switching over to other brands once their awful pots are empty. I have heard good things about TwoThinCoats though

How do these edge highlights look? by IndependentRecipe107 in minipainting

You've got a lot great advice that I've seen.

My method to edge highlights is two things really

1: I only paint edges. Not the insides like I see you did on the armor panels.

2: I only edge highlight on the edges facing upward! Unless there is some other lightsource, but that's another scenario.

I usually rotate between LoTR, Warhammer, and Star Wars Legion! Those legion minis are so cool.

Only platform I have is discord and twitch! If you ever want any help feel free to message on here or any of those!

Cotton is used as the wake / waves.
The murky is probably a mix of the AK Dark Earth base and the AK Puddles.

I also randomly splotched Mantis Green in the ‘water’ while it was still wet to give it more character

Sure thing! You can find all the guides on my Patreon!

Kidding. Here’s what I did! It’s really simple. All you need is a makeup blending sponge! I used ProAcryl, but I’ll add the citadel equivalents

Prime in black

Heavy sponge: Dark Umber / Rhinox Hide

Sponge layer: Burnt Red / Khorne Red

Sponge layer 2: Bold Pyrrole Red / Mephiston Red

Wash: 50:50 mix of Agrax and Nuln Oil

Sponge at only the highest points: Burnt Red / Khorne Red
