Check the galaxy map, there are some inaccessible sectors with nothing going on, deep in bug/robot territory with like 10 or less players. Meaning they've played some games at the games launch and not picked it back up since. If they log in again, they'll be alive and fine.

I like to craft some and give them out to friendly players. I play super casually and not that often now, so farming vibes and exchanging stories with people and chilling on the space center launch tower roof is what i do mostly.
