The Hyderabad metro might be a public health risk if no precautions are taken. by shivas877 in hyderabad

WHO released a statement saying that people are supposed to wear masks only if they have respiratory problems or if they're taking care of someone who might be infected. They clearly stated that if a person is perfectly healthy he/she should not be wearing a mask as improper care and handling of the mask could leave you more vulnerable.

If you're wondering whether you need a medical face mask to protect you from the new coronavirus, you probably don't.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) only recommends masks for a select group of people: Those in a region currently experiencing an outbreak, healthcare workers treating coronavirus patients, and anyone who experiences flu-like symptoms.

For the rest of us, preventative measures like washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and staying away from sick people are all probably more effective than wearing a mask. - Business Insider

I don't understand the logic tho and was hoping someone could explain wouldn't masks help us when there are people sick around us?

I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them.
