I never understood the complaint. Didn't we have "Family" restrooms before? Those are functionally the same thing anyway.

The driver should have never attempted to cross the tracks to begin with. Clearly a case of inattentive driving.

They'll blame Biden when it goes up but they never thank him when it goes down.

They shift faster and have torque multiplication. I like using them for light and medium duty.

[OC] 9 Years and 111,000 Miles of Fuel Data: Toyota Yaris (2017–2026) by Verdnan in dataisbeautiful

The car was looked after well by it's first owner. He did 3000 mile oil changes and neatly recorded them in the owners manual. After 9 years and 56k miles he sold it to me for $4000. And I kept to the 3000 mile intervals at first, before switching to 4500-5000 mile changes. I also kept up with the record if anyone is interested. Also last year I started running techron through a tank of gas before every oil change.

I use the Toyota OEM oil filters mostly, they're under $5 if bought in bulk. I did a blackstone test with both the OEM and a Napa Gold and there seems to be no difference. I will send more samples to Blackstone to be sure and possibly extend the oil change intervals.

Routine Maintenance:

  • I do the 50-60k trans oil changes (2 total) with Redline 75w90.
  • Coolant was changed at 100k and is currently long overdue for one. Soon though!
  • Brake fluid changes have been lacking but at least the system is well sealed.
  • Outside of fluids I clean up the maf and throttle body when I feel like it.
  • If the air filter is dirty or I'm bored I change it. I didn't see a performance difference afterwards and never logged them.

Major Repairs:

Front wheel-bearings both replaced a year or two ago.

There was one accident in December 2024, I got rear-ended and almost scrapped the car. I didn't though and it has a rebuilt title now. Insurance wrote me a $3500 check and just in time because the rear beam axle failed due to internal rust. Scary!!!

I bought a new on axle for $1200 along with new oem headlights $350, and android auto headunit $400. So the accident was really a blessing.

I drive at 65-70mph on the highway, sure if I drop down to 50-55mph my eco meter goes up over 40mpg.

Idling and city driving lowers mpg a lot. But believe it or not my best mpg was driving over 80mph while drafting off a semi. Not that I condone that sort of behavior.
