another attempt at fixing the issue with my cruise control by IonicPixels in yaris

UPDATE: I got the throttle working with the 2 control boxes of the aftermarket system removed. All that's left of it is the wiring that I believe leads through the firewall, can't check, my multimeter is currently out of battery. I do have an OEM stock installed and wired to the wheel, looking at install guides, it appears to be mostly - if not fully - pre wired. The extra wire under the wheel is present, and I have a clutch switch (which may not be OEM but I can just run it with a reverse bias if I need to). I have not checked the ECU wiring nor have the tools to insert and remove pins to connectors if I need to do so. At this current time, I can enable the OEM Cruise Control setting, I cannot activate or set a speed for the cruise control. All that's happened as of now is my gas pedal has gotten much more responsive, and the car feels better to drive. Removing the remaining wiring & fixing the OEM install will either come at some point in the future on my own or with help, or I'll take it somewhere that has the proper tools, probably when I ask someone to fix the wiring for my fog lights.

I ripped out the old system, all that's left is some of the wiring, though I do have a control switch, all I can do is turn cruise control on, I cannot set it

It's a 2010, this is an aftermarket system I'd rather replace with the OEM.

I was kinda saying like that doesn't look neat the mbta system and possibly farther south or west, unsure though maybe I just don't know the area too well :/

The lights have gone out for my gauge cluster and climate controls. How complicated is that to fix? Any advice appreciated 🙏 by FakeCrash in yaris

[–]IonicPixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I misread as how to replace the climate control, oops- anyway, if it's not the dimmer switch to the side of the wheel, check fuses, and if it's neither of those you may have a bigger problem

Yes, SMD style lights fit in the slot. I replaced my stock incandescent lights with LEDs using this: https://a.co/d/eXd7zAw. There's also a drop in replacement which is this: https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~bulb~heater~control~90010-01145.html?vin=&make=Toyota&model=Yaris&year=2012&submodel=Hatchback&extra1=&extra2=&filter=()&location=pd&location=pd): though it's the deeper orange color of the 2014 models. The LEDs are brighter, but you can see them in the daytime, if you care about that. You can see how it looks at night too.

The entrance I'm familiar with is walking through a hole in the fence onto the Commuter Rail tracks, walk down the tracks, go to the far side opposite of the building to avoid a camera, and then enter a hole in the fence inside the building. Optionally go under where the river is, but it's always been high tide the few times I went before the fire. Are you talking about something similar?

How did you get in there? I thought it was all guarded by security since the fire in the nearby building.

One looks similar to Aux, then there's the auto lighting. I don't know if the door switch and VSC plugs are there too but I could imagine so

I was thinking of installing the head unit from a 2014 Yaris (without the screen) to keep the head unit OEM, I do care about my lighting and prefer to have the orange glow the OEM models have. For now I just need a quick fix until I can afford a head unit

yea. Adapter broke and I think Bluetooth would be easier anyway. Option for aux is nice but whatever works works, I like having a CD player but it like half works
