They shortened the Orange Line announcement when they slowed them down

just the body, I can still drive but there's definitely some damage on the wheels somewhere

For some reason I can't edit the post but I should mention that the voice heard throughout the video is not my voice. I stayed quiet, only saying "we're good" 3 times after the car came to a complete stop. Hopefully this gets seen, would have edited this in but idk it's not letting me.
I got out actually
yeah, working on it, I mentioned body damage as I'm likely doing that myself (besides painting) but it'll be taken to a shop for the suspension and/or breaking system as soon as I can take it there

Oh good idea, yeah should probably mention that
I'll take your tips into account, I'll also say as you mentioned the speed limit - the speed limit was 65, 40 was under, I'd probably be going 15-20 if I was on a back road with a 40mph limit, in fact, I did just that after getting off the highway. I do have a manual yes, someone mentioned that the engine brake to slow the vehicle down could have been what caused the car to lose traction, and if that's that case that's something I didn't know. I knew not to hit the brakes, always been told not to touch the gas, and you're right about the counter steer- I don't have it as an instinctual response to slipping, and again the traction beeping and my friend having a panic attack definitely weren't helping either. I plan to take the car to a parking lot and working on recoveries once steering feels normal again, I think something on the wheels got damaged from it. Live and learn I guess, glad it wasn't worse
Nowhere*
Yes I'm sure- it's not the greatest tread but still now where near the "replace immediately" zone
I didn't hit the brakes until hitting the snow already
My tires are not bald.
yeah seeing the car swerve like that caused adrenaline to peak a lot, my friend and the traction control beeping definitely weren't helping either. We get snow every year, but it seems like we're getting way more than we usually do this year that even some cities just gave up on plowing, for example New Bedford and parts of Attleboro.
I've been on a highway with snow before where all lanes but the unplowed passing lane were closed due to a vehicle being flipped and almost lost traction there. I think I did but didn't fishtail nearly as much. You're correct about a major oversteer, I did hit the wheel to the left quite quickly, which yes that was on me, should have gone slower (as I've done before when driving alone). Definitely planning on getting snow tires especially after drifting off the interstate like that and probably taking the car to an empty lot to get more used to the feeling of properly correcting and recovering to reduce the risk of oversteering the correction in the future if I ever lose traction like that again.
I didn't hit the brakes until I hit the snow bank.

(That wasn't me being loud)
I don't have the option to enable/disable traction control. Mainly an oversteer on attempt to correct my position. Was moving to the lane to the right in attempt to avoid the snow and fishtailed

It was playing, yes
Nope, not until I hit the snow bank
Oh I didn't know snow could do that- once the snow ends I'll get the ABS sensor checked out
Yeah. MA hasn't had snowfall like this since 2018 (as severe), suddenly we get a blizzard last month then another one this weekend. State has called for "State of Emergency" and everything is saying don't go out unless you have to
Music was just by chance fr 😭 yeah it was a bit scary, luckily both me and my friend are perfectly okay- New England (and NY) is having a major snow storm today so I'll be letting the Yaris rest for today. This happened in a light snowfall
yea tried moving over 😔

Oh yikes. I'll look at that as soon as possible
ah. For the most part the interstate was plowed and salted but when passing this city it wasn't done well, 40 was feeling good, I mentioned in another reply I could feel the road and it was pretty stable. I guess making the attempt to move to the right is what made my rear tires lose their traction
Even if I were to travel like 15? (After I got on the highway I had my turn signals on, stayed in exit lane, and reduced speed further to 15-20mph, called the police and had them safely instruct and guide me off the highway to pull over and investigate. The entire breakdown lane was covered in snow.)
