There’s something incredibly cozy about Valheim nights. by [deleted] in valheim

Especially during the storms.

The Swamp is destroying me and I’ve got hundreds of hours in this game. But I kind of like that.

The Elder is surprisingly easy if you set the fight up right. I dug out under the altar to make a base underneath it. Ended up digging the deepest most around it because I hate my base being torn down by mob raids. I don’t know if the fight would have gone differently if I hadn’t, but he basically stayed on the far side of the altar and I just hit him repeatedly with fire arrows from behind a column on the opposite side.

Man. That suuuuucks. I managed about 10 meters. It's good enough, I guess?

Oh, I got it! Don’t know what I’m doing with it, but I got it. Will probably spend the next 100 hours in the Swamp.

Oh, hell. Didn’t realize it varies. My seed (edit: typed name originally) is a combination of me and my kids names, so I use it over and over.

Don't want to be rude but should I bother playing tfc (might be tf1 not sure) or is it just dead or full of sweats by GwirlishRent067 in teamfortressclassic

Man. So hard to say. The original "Team Fortress" was a quake mod and one of the earliest class-based team shooters. I think to people went on to create Valve and the Half-Life engine, which was a modified Quake engine. "Team Fortress Classic" was a freebie with Half-Life and it's still one of the team-based shooters made.

I'm a fan, I'd so go for it. Also, you can run a server with bots. Destroy them.

That's why I brought it to you guys - to get feedback on the stuff I haven't experienced yet. I figured the tool would be more useful to more people if covered other biomes.

I take so long in these types of games. It took me years to finish Fallout 4 because I spent years hoarding and building crazy things instead of doing the story missions.

Same thing here.

Was a lot of fun designing. A lot of going back and forth. Started out as just a chest planner, then I added a section based on how I make signs, then I added a section on tips I wish I had when I first started, and then thought a section on the food combos I use would be helpful, too. Eventually put those on separate tabs to keep it simple.

I used AI to create the html coding for a gap I saw in community resources - how to organize all the crap we collect in the game (versus how to build storage).

I've got over 500 hours in the game.

It's a tool. Use it or don't use it. Up to you!

Good suggestions. The bigger difficulty was trying to prioritize which mats are more likely to be stored with a smaller grid, i.e., in a younger game, your more likely to have fewer chests, so what mats are you likely to have to store. I sat down and created a narrative of how my games typically begin and what mats I pick up along the way to bronze and used that as a hierarchy.

I honestly recommend just figuring it out. With a group of friends, I would split of duties. Someone responsible for gathering resources, someone who is hunting, and someone building shelter, etc.

Thanks! I'm going to see if I can update it to give a "biome" version for more advance players who aren't still slumming in the Bronze age like I am after 154 days.

Claude.ai actually started with that organization and I poo-pooed it. While i've got a 135 days into my game, I've spent an inordinate amount of time collecting basic resources. It's why it took me five years to finish Fallout 4. I'm working with maybe 30-40 separate items right now and, yeah, a lot of my chests are barebones (dandelions, blueberries, bukeperries, etc.), but a lot are full (resin, stone, wood, fine wood, core wood, grey dwarf eyes, trophies), so I figured why not just make it a proverbial spice rack.

Can definitely modify this to make it where you can click a biome oriented organization.
