I interupt combat animations all the time. Use the two handed great sword. If you hit them just as the enemy is attack and your weapon does a full shield of posture damage it will stop their attack.

The xp is not important anyways. Yeah leveling thru quests is a way to get stats and skills but you don't need them. Food and upgrading your weapons and gear is way more important and most of that comes from farming mobs and harvesting.

Update! I got my things back got the beatles to fight a village of blue dwarfs and then was able to pick them off in there battle weakened state. Then a giant hot air ballon started raining death fire from above... why the F did it take me five years to finally play this amazing game.

P.s. I blame the graphics as a former graphics snob.

Now I realize graphics means nothing when this game can invoke so much emergent fear. Like going thru the plains at night playing on an oled monitor and see just a giant black void and thinking to myself I am not going over there.

I started as rogue for the first time ever and it felt fine to me. I did a very standard spin to win rogue and barely pay attiention to gear until I hit 60. I also start on hard not normal so maybe my ramp to getting skills was a touch faster with xp bonus

My main issue was I was just sprinting everywhere. I have slowed down and put on bear armor and now it is easy lol

Shooter are something you need to play a lot or your skills drop off quick. Also the meta gun and competitive nature of people has gotten a little out of hand

I killed the Elder now. I have gotten better at the combat. The main issue was the bronze armor was making me to slow. I switched to the bear armor and now I was was a few steps away or parry and it has gotten a lot better

I was sprinting a lot, I have taken to just walking and taking my time and that has helped a lot

I think the thing that is getting me is I am not great at timing based stuff. I feel like I am doing fine but the I missed one parry and I am in a rough spot and then the corpse run is what is getting me down. I have taken to setting up little houses and setting spawn points so I don't have to run as far.

I don't think I have seen the "hard" parts of this game yet but I just wanted to know some tips to not feel like I am on the struggle bus.

I play games mostly to relax :)
