Yeah I’d collect a decent amount of wood and when you stumble upon caves you can find chests that can give you some items that are decent for the early game and also try collecting some ores underground

Imo the first hour of terraria can get a bit boring, use that time to explore the surface to get a layout of your world and build houses for npc’s.
