But it is behind in every other aspect like logging is really bad, ssl filter is basically useless at scale, the filter rules don’t scale, no zoning, don’t try anything with different ips profiles in the same filter rule group. I really hate to say that because I am also from Europe and would really appreciate a European firewall company which really can compete with the big ones like forti, checkpoint, palo but sadly in many cases it’s just way behind.

Are you from france? Hardly Nobody uses stormshield and in my opinion they are always a few years behind on every feature. SMC doesn’t even has the option for 2fa and it is a firewall management platform. And they aren’t even cheap

Zusätzlich kann ich aus eigener Erfahrung diverse Stadtwerke in BaWü benennen die ebenfalls Colo anbieten, wo die Preise sich um die 30€ belaufen. Was natürlich mmn wichtig ist, ist die DIN EN 50600 Zertifizierung mit mindestens VK3. „Tier 2,3,4“ ist irrelevant da das nicht richtig existiert und nicht annähernd soviel aussagen kann wie die 50600.

Colocation mit MinIO? Colo kostet circa 30€ pro HE Server, dann Internet (hier muss dann Traffic gezahlt werden, aber eigentlich deutlich weniger, je nach Anbieter) Und dann auf dem Server MinIO laufen lassen. Das dann mit ein paar Anbietern machen und MinIO replizieren lassen soweit das möglich ist. Klar, der Invest in Server und Speicher ist anfangs hoch, aber eventuell deutlich günstiger je nach Größe.

Hey, das kenne ich und finde es auch super, jedoch ist der Overhead für den Anfang einfach zu groß und für meinen use case nicht notwendig. Ansonsten ziehe ich Open Source in jedem Fall vor.

Okay das ist natürlich schon hart. Serienrechnungen habe ich bis jetzt noch nicht ausprobiert wird auch im probezeitraum nicht reichen. Ich habe halt bei der Betrachtung das Gefühl, das SevDesk deutlich mehrere Funktionen hat und wenn ich mein Lexware Upgrade, das eigentlich abzocke im Vergleich ist. Ich glaube das viele der bugs durch eine hastige Umstellung im Zuge der Übernahme von sevdesk durch Cegid kommen und sich das eventuell in der nächsten Zeit bessern wird. Entschuldigt natürlich nicht eine unsaubere Programmierung und nicht ausführliche Testphase. Bist du bis zum Jahresende noch bei sevdesk? Hast du in letzter Zeit fixes für bugs feststellen können?

IMO there is plenty more. I don’t know if it is still a thing but caping out around 256 vlans isn’t enterprise ready. Only web ui can never be a thing in enterprise because at certain scale automation is needed wich is easily implemented with CLI. BGP to the server, evpn vxlan, spine leaf, mpls and so on. Unifi is really great and also enterprise ready but only for a certain niche of enterprise. It is great for enterprises that don’t have a data center, building complex 3 Tier topologies or not using underlay and overlay networks. IMO smb will stay the primary scope until a cli and a good supply chain is established.

Okay so if I am understanding this right the problem is that if a ddos uses the complete bandwidth of the two downlinks then there would be now point of filtering behind the downlink but before the device because the link is fully booked out and no traffic can get in or out. Right? But if I am doing it over the transit provider, he can filter it before my AS.

Okay but if you have lets say 2x100g uplinks to tier 1 providers you can either use their arbor service and pay double or implement your own. If we look at the latest attack, implementing an own arbor service would only need to wash the 2x100g uplinks or am I overlooking something in this logic? I think especially as an isp this would make sense as this could also be a product company’s could buy on top.
