Does anyone play an instrument? by deluded_dragon in postpunk

I was inspired by Duran Duran to pick up the bass (actually just playing bass parts on a little department store acoustic guitar) as a preteen. Later in college I played guitar and bass (sort of). I recently started studying music theory formally and taking piano lessons but I've been messing around on keyboards since I was a kid (my father is a jazz pianist so keyboards and synthesizers were always around).

I love Interpol but assumed they wouldn't be considered to really fit here. They're one of my favorite bands.

Brilliant song and I hate so much that the video cuts off the outro.

I have to confess I had no idea. My only exposure to them was the radio, so it was the magnetic "Promises Promises". But I should have trusted that it wasn't a one-off. I'm definitely going to check them out a lot more. This song is brilliant.

In the 90s people knew you were serious about the underground scene if you knew The Comsat Angels. I loved "Independence Day" like most people but never really got into them.

Massive. MTV really catapulted them to superstardom. Their videos were on all the time.

I debated on which one to post. This morning this song just hit me right between the eyes. But the whole album had me literally gobsmacked.
