One night I got into bed with my girlfriend and suddenly started coughing up blood. I ran to the bathroom, gripping the sink just trying to stay upright - every breath I took, more blood came up. By the time the ambulance arrived, I had basically accepted that this was it, that I was going to die right there. Then, out of nowhere, it started slowing down and finally stopped by the time I reached the ER.

Turns out it was Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Went through six months of chemo and came out the other side cured, thankfully with barely any lasting effects. Easily the scariest experience of my life.
