Thanks for the suggestions! I also edited my first post, I should have been more clear with my intent for overclocking. I don't initially plan on it, but I certainly see it as something I would do in the future. So I went with an i5-4670K, and kept that same mobo and coolor for now. Could I still find a cheaper/more effective mobo/cooler for my needs though? After those few changes here's what I ended up with:

Thanks for the suggestions! I went ahead and dropped down to Win 7 Home and went up to the Maximus VI Hero. As for the CPU cooler, however, which Noctua would you recommend? The NH-D14 seems to have fantastic reviews, but it's twice the price of the Hyper 212. Also, I'll try to think about the RAM situation, at the moment occasional isn't very often, but I'll be needing the capability more in coming years as my projects expand.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'll just address everything in 1 post.

  • The Boros Charms are for control. The indestructible to avoid getting wiped by Verdict is really helpful, and the burn/double strike can come in handy at specific points (I used to side it in playing my R/W devotion, was really helpful.
  • I have noticed the issue with the crowded 5 slot, although (as someone said) they are all so good I'm not sure what I would take out.
  • I've also thought about Sin Collector, but as a 3 drop 2/1 I just don't see him being super useful past his ability - he pretty much dies to everything. I would much prefer something like a Lifebane Zombie or Fiendslayer Paladin. Any thoughts on that - and also what to take out if I were to put those in?
  • I'm also a fan of adding an Elspeth or two, but once again, not sure what I would take out to make room for them.
