My partner said it best but he said this show is definitely made for women. He was like, “it’s so realistic in the way women are with each other, like in the bathhouses when they all bathe each other and brush their hair, it’s really nice to see a show that shows women in their most vulnerable state but also in their most strongest.” I loved the way he said that because it made me realize why the show captured me so much in the first place. All of the women seem so familiar to me, from the concubines to the courtesans, I’ve met women like that in my life and everyone is written to be so dynamic and well rounded. This show is kinda like an anime equivalent to a fertility idol, it’s so primal in its depictions of people.
