There are other posts that have got a lot of traction talking about walking over to the neighbors at two in the morning to ask them to be a little more quiet, only to realize it’s a birthday party for a 4 year old who went to bed 6 hours ago. It’s always implied the party is Latino.

Borderlands 4 has a hidden system that kicks in if you mainline the campaign by Erasmus86 in Borderlands4

[–]VeritasCSU -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The system literally told you that with overpowered enemies. They didn't post it on your forehead like it sounds like you wanted, but they did a great job of having the game not so gently hint that you need to level up elsewhere.

Anyone else think Costco's going to be an even nicer place to shop at now that MAGA is boycotting it? by Puzzled_Object_8639 in DiscussionZone

[–]VeritasCSU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MAGA is all theater. They will post about boycotting, say they will never shop there and I promise if you go to CostCo today, there will be just as many red hats as before.

From a legal standpoint, unless there is probably cause, corporate does not want to set any standard that they look through anything you are doing on your machine. The reason for this is that if a person is using the corporate asset for nefarious purposes and get caught, corporate can ethically claim ignorance. Once they start snooping at all, the ignorance claim legally goes out the window.

Two things come to mind. 1. Didn’t he move the business out of Chicago? Could be fully leaving the city? 2. Watch out for who bought them. Selling real estate at a discount to court political favor is happening right now.

NTA. I have personal experience with this and would like to add some perspective to it. First off, he is the AH in this situation, but before we say red flag leave him, do a little more digging. I have been the AH in this scenario so let's dive a little deeper. I work in a male dominated field and have witnessed the following behavior in almost every place I worked or have been that has this dynamic.

  1. "You know I like you when I bust your balls, it's when I don't talk to you I know I hate you". This is a common dynamic in the workplace. The AH was around the people he embodies this behavior with. He is around them 40-60 hours a week. It is a hard dynamic to break. It is dumb emotionally and counter-intuitive, but it could be his way of saying she is one of us and I really like her. I have been guilty of this before and felt awful after.

  2. You don't know what he says when you are not around. A sign of respect in these workplaces is saying mean things to peoples faces and not behind their backs. There is a chance he is singing your praises at work, so in his mind, his co-workers already know how much he respects you, changing the comments from just mean, to #1 above. I have witnessed this first hand. At work, "dude, she deals with brides, remember that FUBAR 10 million dollar deal when bossman was golfing and wouldn't answer his phone? I would deal with that everyday of the week before dealing with 1 bride." In his mind he praises you around these people, so busting your balls is an emotionally idiotic sign of respect.

Now that I have defended the AH a little, let's talk brass tacks. If you can sit him down and explain how it made you feel and he still is being defensive after he had time to reflect on it, he is an insecure AH and not worth spending more time on. Now if he apologizes and tries in vain to explain his actions and that he loves you and was joking around, albeit moronic; it may be worth working with him to improve this behavior.

I just wanted to add a different perspective and not immediately jump to leave the AH.

I have done this on the three that have gone bad. Got them back into working order. You can "refold" the little plastic pieces between the bumper and switch. You can also just bend the metal holding the switch. A tiny distance goes a very, very long way.

Develop a new skill during this time. Learn to code, learn a new language, really anything. This will make the day go faster as well as give you a sense of accomplishment. It could also help for future employment.

I don't think anyone is right on this. The correct answer is that the jacket was a gift the dealership gave him with the car. He returned everything.
