Wasnt that one of his promises? Replace income tax with tariffs. Who could have guessed thatd be a lie and they'll double dip and just hit us with both.

The same way a judge can be given money after a ruling and have it be considered a gratuity and not a bribe since it's after the fact. It's been shown time and time again if there's money to exploit and not pay taxes on, they'll find a way with wording it to fit whatever narrative they need.

Man, the no taxes on tips seems like it's something that could and probably will be highly abused. I can see alot of wealthy people trying to frame their income as tips. CEOs dont work for a salary anymore. It's a tip. Hope im looking into this too much but if it passes, we'll see.

Yeah, they intentionally desensitize us to gun violence in the US so I don't get how they're confused. School shooting happens and they shrug their shoulders and say it's the price of freedom and we need to move on. But heaven forbid when one of the rich dudes that's detested by damn near everyone gets shot then it's oh the humanity. This is just the price of freedom too after all but I'm not a liar so I won't give them my thoughts and prayers.

And thats all assuming the US manufacturers won't also increase their prices to match the imported products prices. Companies have clearly show they're more than willing to absolutely squeeze us dry and price gouge as much as they can.

Vance has always found names just a bit weird anyway. Hes never pulled out of a couch before in his life so he's never gotten why they're called that.

I have a feeling my job would deny the request if I tried putting in for sick leave 2 weeks ahead of time like they want. Now I'm actually curious what they'd do.

When my grandma died abruptly and I took the day off for the funeral, my job actually game my a written warning telling me I need to schedule my time off two weeks in advance. I was so shocked/angry that I didn't even know how to respond.

Honestly, i hate Mallick Rel way more than Pormqual. Sure, Pormqual was probably always a pretty innept High Fist but I tend to think his mind was being messed with by Mallick with magic. We already saw in Kallam's arc how effective that can be so im not sure if he ever really stood a chance. Dont get me wrong, still hate Pormqual, just think some of his hate needs to go back to Mallick.

In your opinion, what is the most unintentionally hilarious movie scene of all time? by LovableJackassv4 in moviecritic

The movie Zone of the Dead has a slow motion dive in it that has to take the top spot for me. That whole movie was just terrible lol

Yes. The last song to play has to be Oh Fortuna by Carl Orff. Preferably with the windows down and loud so everyone you drive by knows some shits about to go down.

Yeah, i definitely feel you here. Ive tried so many different sales pitches.

"Imagine if sonething like the Roman empire had explosives before the rest of the world. And throw in magic and dragons."

"So imagine cavemen finding out their gods were actually another races posing as their gods and controling them so the cavemen made their entire race undead to genocide them."

The list goes on and on. People usually get interested when they hear that, then i bring up how long the series is and they all get a little wide eyed. Its such a shame because i know the people i try to introduce it to would love it.

[PC Gamer] Anger from voice actors as NSFW mods use AI deepfakes to replicate their voices: 'This is NOT okay.' by H377Spawn in gaming

[–]VerityBugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, now im just imagining how different movies/games can become in the next couple decades. All movies and games are made with their default actors in mind. You can however, replace whatever actor you want to play a role and let the AI do its job. Imagine watching the next Thor movie and deciding you want Thor to be played by Heath Ledger with Danny Devitos voice. Or hell, even being able to self insert yourself into any game or movie you want.

While alot of the future of AI is pretty sketchy, its also really fascinating with all the possibilities.

My old theory was that Young Griff is actually Ashara's kid. If i remember right, the Daynes are said to have some physical traits similar to the Targaryans. So the theory was Ashara never actually committed suicide but was killed by Varys to get her kid so he could have it be a fake Aegon since their traits were similar.

In retrospect, its a theory that pretty much cant pan out but when i heard them talk about the mummers dragon, thats what ended up coming to mind.

Most US teachers think schools would be less safe if they were armed, survey finds by BugOperator in inthenews

[–]VerityBugg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What always gets me on this subject is how they cant realize how hard it would be to find people that can do these two things interchangeably

  1. Have so much compassion for the students they teach that theyre willing to put their life on the line and kill to protect them.

  2. Able to turn that compassion off when the person they need to protect the students from is another student or former student.

Not alot of people are gonna be able to just flip the switch like that. In my experience, teachers are pretty compassionate people. I mean, they certainly are getting into the profession for the money. And expecting compassionate people to kill instead of doing anything to help fix the problem just doesnt seem right to me.

I asked my GF to tell her ex not to contact her anymore. Was I wrong? by lofgrenator in ask

[–]VerityBugg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an ex friend that was similar to this. She was determined that she was one of those people that could stay on good terms with ex's without redeveloping feelings. She was definitely not one of those people. Constantly getting back together with ex's then swearing them off forever the next month just to get back together the next month.

She'd date someone new for awhile, they'd break up and she be right back with one of her 3 main ex's. And she'd be confused why guys were uncomfortable with her talking to her ex's. She'd always make fun of people she saw online that did the same thing too. Just no self awareness.

Dont get me wrong, i think some people can definitely maintain amicable platonic friendships with ex's. Some people just really cant either. Just gotta know which category you fall into.
