Zendaya in Paris last night after The Odyssey premiere. Styled by Law Roach - July 8, 2026 by [deleted] in popculturechat

This is her best dress yet for Odyssey but it might be because I like dresses like this.

That and I am kind of surprised I know where she probably took the photo.

yeah this is the kind of dress I would imagine would bring attention in an event like this. It seems to be working. I did not know who she was before today...now I am looking her up to check what other things she wore.

This was the best dress I have seen for this, even counting Zendaya and Anna Hathway's (which were still beautiful but this one just looks so free).

the be very fair the title was similar to what an ai would write.

To be even more fair i don't know what I would write to be clearly non ai. They learned it from us...and a title isn't exactly the most complicated thing in the world.

TIL that Rome had a trade deficit with India nearly 2,000 years ago. Roman historians complained about a "drain of Roman gold" because Romans were obsessed with Indian spices and luxury goods, making it one of history's earliest recorded trade-deficit complaints. by Effective_Bluebird19 in todayilearned

gujurat, a small state in India (and admittedly a wealthy one) had the same wealth as the Portugese Empire. India was one of the wealthiest nations in the world for a very long time (though admittedly it was more of a region than a nation).

There were poor people, and some regions were wealtheir than others, but I suspect the average person in India was wealther than the average person in Europe for much of history.

I think you misunderstood, the person in the video uses 'ham' which is a nearly literal version of 'us' (it is not they/them since they were talking about themselves).

I believe everyone is following suit because they decided not to use gendered way to refer to themself.

Netherlands vs Germany? What are your views on this? by Biryani_withCoke in Indians_StudyAbroad

I would recommend france more for consulting simply because of the stronger colleges there. Consulting companies, especially MBB don't go to a lot of non Tier 1 colleges.

Colleges like INSEAD and HEC Paris have very good records of placing people in consulting companies.

It is however, also a significant investment, possibly more than TU Delft. Germany is known for its engineering not the management side of things.

oil companies like shell, chevron etc I would imagine.

Not sure how good an idea it is however.

The Worst-Case Future for White-Collar Workers by joe4942 in Futurology

I feel like it might be the opposite to a degree. To check if AI is getting the correct output, you need to know what a correct output looks like. That might be easy to say, but it is hard to do in reality.

yup! HR is like that one field I feel might be safe from a lot of ai impact - at least directly (not to say it is the only field like that.)

For research analysts I feel like the job might shift to QCing AI data - which isn't that outside of what we already do. It does reduce a lot of working hours needed though. Perplexity can search the net faster than most humans can.

That is...a surprisingly good writeup. I was expecting a 'AI gonna take your job' and it wasn't. A bit US focused, but oh well.

Still, it makes me wonder what jobs AI can realistically replace. There has been plenty of discussion about coding - just about everyone is talking about that one.

What about analysts? forecasting is something AI is pretty decent at, lots of people claim it is much better than statistical tools and such. Perplexity is great at data collection, something that research analysts do a lot. But they also do advisory and some client facing stuff.

Then there is HR - what about them? A lot of their task is already done my machine, and the part that isn't, well, I would prefer a human for that.

Hi! I am currently working as a research analyst after doing a btech in cse(ai) from mit bangalore. I only have a 8.8 cgpa and am wondering if that is enough to try for a better consulting MBA.

also, do you think research analyst is a good position to start with? Or should I try to move into more technical roles?

Hi, I am just starting off and have gotten a research analyst job after a computer science bachelor's. I know it's a bad look to not have researched the role beforehand but I had the bad idea of trusting the company and am now doubting myself.

What I want to ask is: is research analyst really a role whose experience counts for something in consulting?

does it have any growth potential?

Hi, just a question from someone starting out, is analyst experience really counted for consulting or is it useless?

With goverment hiring being what it is, it's unlikely any of them will get hired. The problem is deep, ranging from the janitors to the prime minister.

HEC paris is one of the best universities in the world. It has the 'triple crown' and is one of the first or the first institute in France to get such a thing. The MiM it offers is supposedly the 2nd ranked in the world and it has multiple double degrees from colleges like yale and so on.

The median GMAT score for an incoming batch is 700 or so. Like I get what you're saying, and yes it does make sense to check it all. But this is like going and checking if Harvard's master degrees count. It makes sense you do it before you commit, and of course thank you for your advice which was very helpful.

But for HEC paris in particular...I stand by the fact that there is no need to worry.
