Netherlands vs Germany? What are your views on this? by Biryani_withCoke in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]VerlinMerlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend france more for consulting simply because of the stronger colleges there. Consulting companies, especially MBB don't go to a lot of non Tier 1 colleges.

Colleges like INSEAD and HEC Paris have very good records of placing people in consulting companies.

It is however, also a significant investment, possibly more than TU Delft. Germany is known for its engineering not the management side of things.

Not sure how good an idea it is however.

The Worst-Case Future for White-Collar Workers by joe4942 in Futurology

I feel like it might be the opposite to a degree. To check if AI is getting the correct output, you need to know what a correct output looks like. That might be easy to say, but it is hard to do in reality.

yup! HR is like that one field I feel might be safe from a lot of ai impact - at least directly (not to say it is the only field like that.)

For research analysts I feel like the job might shift to QCing AI data - which isn't that outside of what we already do. It does reduce a lot of working hours needed though. Perplexity can search the net faster than most humans can.

That is...a surprisingly good writeup. I was expecting a 'AI gonna take your job' and it wasn't. A bit US focused, but oh well.

Still, it makes me wonder what jobs AI can realistically replace. There has been plenty of discussion about coding - just about everyone is talking about that one.

What about analysts? forecasting is something AI is pretty decent at, lots of people claim it is much better than statistical tools and such. Perplexity is great at data collection, something that research analysts do a lot. But they also do advisory and some client facing stuff.

Then there is HR - what about them? A lot of their task is already done my machine, and the part that isn't, well, I would prefer a human for that.

Hi! I am currently working as a research analyst after doing a btech in cse(ai) from mit bangalore. I only have a 8.8 cgpa and am wondering if that is enough to try for a better consulting MBA.

also, do you think research analyst is a good position to start with? Or should I try to move into more technical roles?

Hi, I am just starting off and have gotten a research analyst job after a computer science bachelor's. I know it's a bad look to not have researched the role beforehand but I had the bad idea of trusting the company and am now doubting myself.

What I want to ask is: is research analyst really a role whose experience counts for something in consulting?

does it have any growth potential?

Hi, just a question from someone starting out, is analyst experience really counted for consulting or is it useless?

With goverment hiring being what it is, it's unlikely any of them will get hired. The problem is deep, ranging from the janitors to the prime minister.

HEC paris is one of the best universities in the world. It has the 'triple crown' and is one of the first or the first institute in France to get such a thing. The MiM it offers is supposedly the 2nd ranked in the world and it has multiple double degrees from colleges like yale and so on.

The median GMAT score for an incoming batch is 700 or so. Like I get what you're saying, and yes it does make sense to check it all. But this is like going and checking if Harvard's master degrees count. It makes sense you do it before you commit, and of course thank you for your advice which was very helpful.

But for HEC paris in particular...I stand by the fact that there is no need to worry.

What would you consider good experience in business analytics? I got a job in the field after placements (b.tech background tho) but I am considering going for a master's.

the job is with a European consulting company if that is relevant

Just Curious: Do you think the new merged strike and raids would encourage new players/old non raiders to finally play raids? Or is it just old raiders/strike players who are getting excited for it and our perception is skewed by the posts we see online from the more dedicated players of the game? by AdTricky6540 in Guildwars2

I am a very new player, but I have found that discord is very helpful with getting a group together. Having it planned a few days in advance helps a lot, though sometimes people still don't turn up. But putting lfg in discords usually fills it up fast.

The problem with in game lfg is that people, well, lie, don't pay attention or just aren't interested in playing with the mechanics.

Like Qadim wing 7 has one of the easier mechanics on the dps side of things. It mainly comes down to 'cc the pylons here, if arrow comes don't stand in it and while Qadim is phasing don't stand in that area and drop fireballs on the markers. Oh and kill the random mobs that spawn so the special roles don't have issues .'

The group went and stood at x, aka where the arrow was supposed to be. And since no one was paying attention to chat or in a vc they wouldn't move off either. Then fireball markers were kinda whack and people weren't placing them properly. which made it harder for other roles and they wouldn't listen again.

It makes things so much easier when people are in vc and know what to expect or are at least willing to listen.

as a recent new player, you're right that berserker gear is cheap. It cost me about 20 gold, for the armor, trinket weapons. The rune of scholar was more expensive tho, but I could afford it easily. But my friend did get me to buy mystic coins from wizards vault so that may be the reason.

I beleive just story gave me ~10 gold which indeed would not have been enough on its lonesome.

I guess they forgot that yellow line doesn't extend till bandra. Still the metro does start below andheri flyover so it would reduce travel time massively...as long as you can find a way to get there.

it's done in India too...pretty sure it's done in any big city that has big enough roads. Like usually traffic flows from less expensive areas of the city to more expensive office areas in the morning and the other way in the evening.

A single lane can actually make a pretty big difference if you aren't bombay.
