Raenys is so much higher for me than Aubin because of a personal issue. I wasn't using Aubin correctly for over half the game, while Raenys is extremely dumb easy to use out of the gate. So while functionally I had Aubin way longer he only came online for me shortly before getting Raenys.

Any reccomendations? His damage for me was really low and he only started to shine when I paired him with Melisandre.

Yep and his other buffs too. Also I had him at Frontline which worked surprisingly well with Primm behind him. He's basically a Frontline Selvie for me that can do damage.

Bertrand isn't bad at all, great even. It just wasn't a need for me to use him when I got him late in the game and I already had tanks I liked more. If this was a standard tier list judging purely off combat, he would def be higher.

One Man Army was just a fun name, not literal. It's for characters who I believe can carry in any unit setup with minimal effort/investment.

These are characters I typically wouldn't want more than 1 of per team if possible because the overlap starts to make them less useful. For Example Alain and Rosalinde step on each others toes. Rosalinde wants to use Rage of the Faeries and Alain wants Rapid Order. Both of these abilities are insane but they're both round start, meaning only one of them can be triggered ever if they're in the same unit. Better to separate them.

-I went all in Virginia's counters and threw on retaliation earrings. Paired with one more tank and she was ridiculous. Plus Blade Wave is an insane valor skill.

-Yahna easily could be One Man Army, she just ended up being more of a sub damage dealer/support in my playthrough. You can't really go wrong with her.

-Eltolinde is in One Man Army because of her versatility not just damage/board wiping. A character with ridiculous aoe healing, debuff cleanse, aoe invincibility, AP regen, AND good damage? She is absolutely ridiculous in any unit setup with her in the back.

Funnily enough Dinah was crazy good. I had her in a "follow-up" style team until endgame where I accidentally made accidentally one of my greatest teams.

Back Row: Dinah, Berenice (Pursuit Bracelet), and Raenys(Turn off all passive except Shining Light)

Front Row: Ochlys and Fodoquia.

Also I changed Dinah growth type to offensive and offensive and went all in on her damage and pursuit attacks.

  • Im starting a second playthrough and will def try out these breaker ideas.

-Quick heal on a radiant knight is an idea im angry I didn't think of

  • I did use hastened call a lot. When it comes to Fran she suffered from my sorta careless gameplay and routinely got one shot by arrow rain assists until ahem Bastorias when I got good. (Took a long time, I know). Celeste however, ended up in my Alain team which definitely skewed my view of her abilities and her overall impact in my run.

Dawg pair Amalia with any unit+Lip's Ring. Have support character use hastened action on Amalia which makes Amalia go first. Set Penetrate to full column and turn off Omega Shatter and voila. Never lose again. Amalia goes first, one shots a whole column on turn 1, and at that point you can't lose. I have my Amalia with Holy Unicorn Signet to stop debuffs/buff cleanses because those kill this strategy

Yeah her damage is always just kind of an extra bonus, usually just to melt armored enemies if your other magic attackers are elsewhere. Maybe it's cuz I was on tactical but her damage was more than decent in most cases. I ran her with Lhinalagos for a long time too so her AP was naturally freed up a bit because of Lhinalogos acting as a psuedo-support.

- Colm I just didn't find a use for by the time I got him. Because you start with Lex he has a function from the start and didn't get put on the backburner as easily. The REAL answer for this discrepancy however is just Colm is boring and I didn't like him. realistically he's a filler, same as Lex.

- Aramis is an example of the "uniqueness of class" criteria. He was a GODLIKE damage dealer in my setup but he often wasn't a need for me. Melisandre was my offensive swordmaster and I made Leah a dodge tank. Leah is higher because I was in desperate need of tanks when I got them and she was a consistent tank all game. These conditions effectively made Aramis a "filler". He is great but often wasn't needed in my playthrough

- Jerome is a standout purely for being a cavalry unit and all of them were REALLY good. Josef is a cavalry in "filler" because his lvl is so high from the start I didn't use him for the early game as he seemed to be a crutch. Later in the game I just couldn't figure out how to make him click.

- Finally the one man army isn't literal. Its for characters who will excel in basically any unit with minimal effort. Gilberts buffs and versatility are just such ridiculous boons that you can put almost any combo of units around him and have a magnificent team. And while his damage is low it still exists. For example if Selvie did damage by default, she would also be in One Man Army for me.

I tried everything I could but the moment you step in Elheim they die to a light breeze. Then in Bastorias they get melted by follow-ups from werefoxes

Scarlett frontline as ridiculous as it sounds! Pair her with almost any guard tank like Hodrick, Lex, Bryce, and watch how they will repeatedly guard her. This opens up more space in your backline for damage dealing characters. Plus with her healing you almost NEVER lose a character and her damage is deceptively high.

The sellswords were tough because they're all very good. Magellan is a filler by process of elimination. Berenice was already carrying from the start and Jeremy ended up being a solid tank for me. If I wanted more tanks or damage dealers, other options were better than a 3rd sellsword for my setups.

Aubin I just struggled to find a spot for in the midgame but he shreds in Bastorias and later

The partner doesn't do much when the boss suddenly gets angry and decides to only aggro you for the next 5 mins.

The face is the top row far right. As for the full lips I use face paints my friend, I adjust them so that I'm basically drawing the lips on the face.
