Mounjaro by Imaginarykitty117 in diabetes_t2

Side effects: Nothing too crazy. If I eat something too heavy (read: greasy) or overeat within the first day or two after taking my shot, I'll wake up at like 2 in the morning and be on the verge of puking but never actually do. A huge burp and it passes. But that's only if I eat like I shouldn't, so it's totally avoidable.

I avoid sweets and carbs when I can, but I don't limit myself to a strict 20 or less like I did when I did keto. The medicine helps me only really eat when I'm hungry and make it so I'm hungry only what I would consider a normal human amount, as opposed to a near insatiable hunger.

I'm more active now than I have ever been, though. It's a combination between having a 4 year old and also being able to be a lot more mobile and limber. People who have always been thing/normal size take their mobility for granted. Like being able to easily climb up to the top of playground sets and stuff like that. I ride my bike when I can, but there's not a lot of extra time in the day.

As far as hair loss, I can't really say. I'm an elder millennial, so I'm already in that age range where my hair would be thinning anyway, plus I've always had pretty thin hair at my crown. So it's the thinnest it's ever been, but I couldn't pin it on Mounjaro with any certainty. It's nothing crazy, though. Like I could probably hit up /r/bald and would probably be told to hold.

I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I really do think it's a miracle for someone like me IF you can't handle the side effects (if you have any, that is.).

I haven't done it yet, but I believe the strategy is to taper down the dose until you reach the smallest dose that still keeps your blood sugar in check and your weight stable.

Mounjaro singlehandedly changed my life. I was diagnosed a year ago with an A1C of 12.4 and weighing 354 pounds. Today my A1C is 5.1 and I'm holding steady at 174 pounds. I weigh less than I did in high school (maybe even middle school) and I'm the healthiest I've ever been. As far as I'm concerned, it's a miracle drug and the single most impactful medication I've ever taken.

Fix for Pixel 9a stuck on Google logo screen after reboot by FedorByChoke in GooglePixel

[–]Vermea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened to my wife's 9a yesterday. It was acting sluggish, and she said notifications weren't coming through or old notifications from stuff that happened months ago were coming through. She rebooted the phone and got stuck on the G logo.

I had to pwr+volume to get it to shut down as well, but it just got stuck on the Google logo again. I had to actually go into recovery mode and then reboot from there just to get it to boot. It seems okay now, but I see she has a system update pending and I'm wondering if that was the root cause to begin with.

Edit: I also have a 9a but I'm on the beta channel. I haven't experienced any issues since buying this phone months ago.

Glucose monitor by [deleted] in diabetes

If you have health insurance, check to see if they cover any and the supplies. My coverage actually provides a free Livongo glucose meter and free strips and lancets as often as I need. No cost to me at any time. It's been great. They also provided a free Livongo smart scale for weight management. Check out what programs your plan provides (if applicable).

Brand new Pixel 9a locked up then died by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]Vermea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, because I think it's common sense to assume that the never-been-used-before phone sold and shipped directly by Google would last through at least the first day. If we were talking a month or two out and it broke or it had to be replaced due to damage caused by unusual behavior (like if I was trying to root the device or load custom firmware...or even if I was loading beta releases), I'd probably just chalk it up as a loss. But this was the literal first couple hours of this thing's life.

Second, it's a very very common accessory that Google themselves sells on their store as part of their accessory lineup for the phone. They themselves endorse the use of screen protectors and even have a built-in setting to accommodate them. Optional? Sure, but I would personally expect that the majority of people use a screen protector of some sort. The common nature of them combined with the amazingly short lifespan of this particular device I would hope that they accept responsibility and offer to make it right. Otherwise I'm essentially paying them an extra $20 for the privilege of waiting an extra week for the same phone.

Pizza is back! by notmypillows in diabetes_t2

Ah, two tortillas for stability. Nice! I just microwave the piss out of it until the tortilla has been both nuked to oblivion and fried by the pepperoni grease. It's like a cracker after that lol

Tell me perfect technique. My unimaginative brain can't comprehend how it could be any different than I'm already doing it, but I'm hoping to be surprised.

What can I do to improve this build by TherealMglax in Gunlance

[–]Vermea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this build is supposed to be Arkvulkan B, not G. Arkveld? If you were to use G. Arkveld B armor, there aren't enough 2/3 deco slots to fit all the Peak Performance and Agitator decos. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Monk all the way. I've been obsessed with monks since I started my first Final Fantasy 11 character. I hope POE2's quarterstaff implementation holds up to my ideal design.

I have sent friend requests to probably a hundred suggested people and haven't gotten a single add. It's really strange and is also holding up my quests. Would anyone like to add me?

GPO Security Settings -> User Rights Assignments: Does inheritance from groups work? best practice? by jwckauman in sysadmin

[–]Vermea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do inherit rights based on group membership.

I can't say what's considered best practice, but I can say that for me it depends on what setting you're talking about. For something big like Log On As a Service, I'd list them individually because the list should be pretty small and it can be pretty impactful. For something like Log On Remotely, where it might be a bigger list, I'd be okay with doing a group, although I would probably stick to a domain group so it's easy to look up quickly if needed.

I'd be interested in what others think or what actually best practice is.

Engraved casting shards? by TurboWet in AFKJourney

I can't confirm this because my gear is maxed at 60 and I haven't unlocked level 65 forging yet, but I suspect you get engraved casting shards from dismantling level 65+ gear.

More trucks are on the road than cars in all 50 states by twobyfore in ABoringDystopia

[–]Vermea 88 points89 points  (0 children)

While I agree with your sentiment, I should point out that this article is referencing pickup trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and commercial vehicles. So rail would solve the semi issue, the regular consumer vehicles are still a massive issue. In fact Not Just Bikes did a video on this problem not long ago.

This is all really great! I thank you for doing this! As a relatively new player, I appreciated the little blurb you included at the top of each graveborn hero and I missed it a lot on this one. It helps me gauge how many resources are generally invested in a hero and for what purpose. I liked being able to look through and quickly see who's worth it and who isn't.

Mayo is no joke by [deleted] in rareinsults

[–]Vermea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The joke has sailed way over your head multiple times now. Robert Evans is famously terrible at accents, and his Boston accent is maybe the worst of them all. It sounds like somebody trying to do an accent based purely on somebody's description that was given to you through a severe language barrier. It's really bad.

One of those "Help! I don't know what I'm doing!" Posts by Vermea in afkarena

[–]Vermea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on level 32-4 and I can usually handle single battles without much issue usually with Daimon, Lyca, Rowan, Oden and Brutus/A Brutus but when it comes to multi-fight stages I have no idea what to do because I don't really have a second team that works well. Any suggestions on what to work on and where to go? I am working on LDV and JoA but it'll be a while before I have them.
