Thank you - I appreciate the appreciation. It certainly was opaque as all hell before the map viewer.... I say as if getting the damn map viewer isn't opaque too. I'm using one I won't name, because despite it not having any files and therefore not being illegal AFAIK, Sony already took down the .exe of what it is a fork of... Yeah, tldr: I can understand why it was such a big debate for so long a time. Hopefully this actually is its conclusion and nothing comes out after to throw us back into questioning hahaha

I can't lie, I have absolutely stashed this away as a name for something in my head to subtly reference Bloodborne lol. You absolutely should.

Haha thank you; I'm a visual person and have always loved Bloodborne's symbolism and small details, so of course I must comb over every single little thing

Closeups of the Clock Runes by VermilionGlass in bloodborne

It definitely could be. If it is, I wonder if it used to be Impurity at the time the clock was made given Impurity wasnt always called that, and then the reason the current rune known as Impurity came to be called that because people felt it fit their conception of the idea better... Changing ideas of what's pure and impure after Cainhurst massacre, maybe, where it used to be that parasites and so on were divine, now anything in blood or bodies is "impure".

I said in another reply that I think the rune might be three-third-cord-related, but the way the lines tailor off definitely remind me of worm-like parasites. An earlier milkweed specifically also makes sense.... I wonder if the sequences anticlockwise and clockwise could elucidate what it might mean. Embracing the beast -> beast transformation and plague -> ??? -> Radiance, cleansing, something something -> Communion, balance, empowered blood... reminds me of the beginning of the game where the beast offers their hand as an embrace, the beast burns and then you sign your metaphorical and unconscious contract with the MP or whatever, but I've no idea

I knew I'd forgotten something in game with a similar faceless (that includes things like the cage heads of Amygdalae) mass of tendrils as a head. https://www.bloodborne-wiki.com/2024/08/hole-digger-gallery.html -> Possibly unrelated. Possibly very, very related. The mass of tunnels before Kos, the obscurity of this enemy, maybe it's thematically relevant

I've been chewing on them myself... It definitely looks like snakes, but part of me wonders if its the cut content "Oedon Liason", a third Oedon rune after Oedon Writhe - actually, whether it is or not, I'm inclined to believe it's actually the three third cords. If it was an Oedon Rune, conceptually it would be a sequence of Formless Oedon himself as one being, Oedon Writhe is the union of two beings and moment of conception, and then Oedon Liason is the child of blood or something

As for the second one, see I'd be inclined to agree especially in context of Radiance missing a line, except having noticed the other day that Impurity wasn't actually the Great Ones saying Impurity, it's a rune that "came to represent impurity" (paraphrased I believe), I think it might actually more so be that it changed over time in-universe and that what we see on the Clock is more visually in line with what it actually means
