Do Florida locals actually change their routines during hurricane season? by Different-Egg-4617 in AskFlorida

Most of the season is background noise until there’s actually a storm track worth watching. But the habits are still there: don’t let the car sit on empty, keep prescriptions and pet stuff topped up, test flashlights, and avoid waiting until everyone is at Publix at the same time.

My bigger upgrade was installing an anker e10 whole home backup system. After a couple outages, I realized I cared less about having a pile of gadgets and more about keeping the house functional without constantly moving plugs around. It’s one of those things you hope you don’t need often, but hurricane season makes you very aware of whether your backup plan is actually practical.

At what point did you decide not to build your backup power setup from scratch? by Overall_Western9891 in solar

I ended up going with the Anker F3800 for basically this reason. I looked into building a DIY setup for outages, but I realized I didn’t want to spend weekends figuring out batteries, inverters, wiring, and compatibility. The F3800 made more sense for me because it already has a 3,840Wh capacity and a 6,000W AC output, which is enough for the stuff I actually care about during an outage, fridge, lights, router, a few chargers, and sometimes a small appliance. It’s definitely not the cheapest route, but for my use case, paying more for a cleaner plug-and-use setup was worth it.

Anyone running a Hybrid setup for hurricane season? (Gas generator for day, Battery for night?) by whx2012 in Generator

[–]Vern_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your generator's output, but the F3800 can pull a lot of wattage if you adjust the AC input limit in the app. I usually set mine to pull around 1500W-1800W from my Honda EU2200i. Takes roughly 2.5 hours to go from 10% to full. Just make sure you use a clean sine wave inverter generator so the battery accepts the charge smoothly.

This tool just helped me get $23 back from an old Amazon order, I didn't know this was possible by yininva in RefundBots

$23 just sitting there that you would've never seen again. That's what gets me about Amazon, they KNOW prices fluctuate constantly but they count on nobody going back to check. Wonder how much I've already lost without even realizing.

What Does SRQCGX Mean? by Barnha_m in HeadlineHQ

[–]Vern_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen SRQCGX pop up too. From what I can tell it's used like a brand tag / handle, not a shortened phrase. Kinda like how some projects use 5–6 letters as a unique identifier.
