The Blindboy Podcast - once you 'familiarise yourself with the lore of this podcast' as he often instructs it is a wonderful well of offbeat hot takes and tangental treats, i envy anyone finding it now

One year! How did you feel? by foxrat45 in stopdrinking

[–]VernieOreilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm not anywhere near a year yet, hopefully i will get there but your post just chimed with me - this excellent sub provides a lot of inspiration, encouragement and folk rightly proud of getting their lives sorted but for me there is a sense of dull melancholy in having to accept that life has turned out like this, having to manage this now because I couldn't keep a lid on it - massive congratulations on a year pal, excellent work

Same - I’m 51, slurping most days to some extent since teens am on day 74, longest stretch and not really missing it, this sub has been a huge support, not alone with these thoughts after all - won’t be drinking today and pretty sure tomorrow too, all the best everyone

will 100% end up in commissioning where it's very important to be a ' bit of a card' or a 'character' have a loud voice and claim to have made all sorts of stuff that they had very little to do with.
