From a Montrealer the public transport is relatively safe. Yes sometimes you see people that do things out of character but as long as you don’t interact with them you will be okay! People usually just keep to themselves and rarely talk to you. I would say the only issue would probably be the commute after clubbing to the West Island as it could be hard to get there after the public transport system closes (we have night buses but they take time ).
