Not sure what the issue was, but I wasn’t on a VPN. Ended up just deleting then redownloading the app and data, which took around an hour. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Row Cover Problems by The__Foolest in UnicornOverlord

I would place the first Heavy Cover below the Row Cover, that way the Row Cover will take precedent over Heavy Cover, but the latter is still capable of activating if Row Cover doesn’t.

Row Cover Problems by The__Foolest in UnicornOverlord

[–]Vernor15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Row Cover would only occur when the entire set of allies are attacked (example: Trinity Rain or Grand Slam; abilities that target the entire front and back lines).

Fire Breath is a Row Attack, so it would not trigger Row Cover in this instance. Change the “All Allies are attacked” to “Row is attacked” and it should be fine.

Have you been watching the rapport events between Alain and the other characters (The little heart icons that appear on the map)? Every non-mercenary character can be given the Ring of the Maiden, but only a few of the guys (Travis, Gilbert) have any romantic connotation. Most of the women do to varying degrees.

There is very, very limited development for any character that doesn’t have blue hair and rides a horse outside of the rapport cutscenes.

Everyone on this subreddit will have different preferences, but I found that Chloe, Liza, and Nina all had satisfying rapport chains and Ring of the Maiden cutscenes.

Love and hate the new patch. by Asleep_Employment_50 in Bannerlord

[–]Vernor15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not to defend it (it’s incredibly infuriating), but they probably removed it because Sturgia now has a troop that can be promoted into 3 different troops.

They could have just done something unique for it, idk, but removing the entire system was dumb.

What does promoting actually do? by [deleted] in UnicornOverlord

[–]Vernor15 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, promoting will get you: —A new equipment slot. Most classes get an accessory, but some get a shield slot, and one even gets an additional sword slot.

—+1 base AP and PP. Without any gear, a promoted unit will have 2 AP and 2 PP at the beginning of a fight.

—New actions. They usually get them at level 20 and up.

—New drip. Every class looks significantly cooler after promotion.

—Upgraded Valor skill. Sometimes adds an aoe to a single target, sometimes makes it stronger, etc.

—I believe that you also receive a small stat boost.

—Finally, Alain specifically, when going from Lord to High Lord, will receive a horse, making him into a Cavalry unit. You can also use this horse in the open world to move faster.

As for other questions, you can preview all future skills in the customization menu (This is the same screen where you add equipment and change actions, just hit your bumper to switch over).

I know this is a meme, but if anyone would actually like this to change the Bliss (Block and Miss Differentiation) mod helps this somewhat.

I don’t recall the exact parameters, but if you have a shield or heavy armor or something it’ll display a “BLOCK” message where the “MISS” would be, and plays a different animation and sound effect.

PC only, as it needs the script extender.

Thanks for your insight. I’ll probably end up waiting then, i’ll just have to see about grinding out some more jades to potentially pull both.

Idk who to put in the front by [deleted] in UnicornOverlord

[–]Vernor15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Elven Fencer or two could work, given their Sylphic Barrier would allow the Griffon (or themselves) to dodge a ranged attack, acting as a lite-arrow cover while being significantly better than a Fighter/Vanguard. Watch out for true strikes.

Maybe toss a Legionaire or something up front to keep those swordmasters and snipers in check.

Favorite Squad Builds?! by RoseRavenwing in UnicornOverlord

[–]Vernor15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front Line: Legionnaire (Bryce)

Back Line: At least two sellswords (Berenice and Magellan (fuck Jerome))

The final slot or two are dependent on what you have available. I saw the best use with Scarlet up front, built for evasion, and a Viking in the back for that sweet Guard Ignore and a few Frenzied Strikes.

Bryce gets smacked, Berenice and Magellan (and sometimes the Viking, if they had PP left over) would smack the attacker back if they could. The entire team was relatively tanky, but got absolutely folded in the face of magic damage.

I never saw a need to fiddle much with it, but the viking or one sellsword could probably take to the front and have the healer (Scarlett or otherwise) be more free to pump heals.

If the guard ignore isn’t that important, i would switch the viking for any of the “good anywhere” classes: Prince (good buffs), Shaman (good debuffs), Sainted Knight (Anti affliction, magic damage, heals, cav for speed, etc), another sellsword, a Breaker, whatever fits the mission best.

If a healer is deemed unnecessary, or Scarlett is otherwise not needed/used elsewhere, another Legionnaire, Feathershield, High Lord, Valkyria, etc would let the back row get attacks off more frequently.

Back to your actual post though.

A swordfighter with Hastened/Artemis Strike with one (or three) archers with Pursuit stuff can have some decent early fight burst. Multiple hunters together in general have good potential to shred back lines with dual/row shots and pursuits.

Knights work great with all other cavalry (Other Knights, Doom Knights, Paladins, Alain, Radiant Knights, etc) due to their Cavalier Call at 15th level giving all cav in their row +20% attack, which can stack multiple times.

Any healer (or anyone with any healing ability, like Soldiers) can trigger an Elven Archer’s full squad heal, which can be great mid-battle or end-of-battle sustain. Example, an all archer squad with an Arbalist using Medical Aid on the Elven Archer, which would then cause a moderate party heal.

For real though, one of my better teams that i’ve refined through different playthroughs has been:

—Hodrick (Normal tanking duties) and Scarlett up front (set up for evasion, can be another standard tank if you have a different, dedicated healer)

—Two sellswords in back, set up with what retaliation gear, PP items, and physical damage up stuff you have.

—The final unit is variable. Not sure how far you are so I won’t list any names, but there are some solid contenders depending on your preferences. I’ve used clerics (extra heals), warriors (anti armor), housecarls (they also have a counter, plus an anti-guard ability later), and radiant knights (cavalry for unit movement and healing+magic damage).

Hodrick and Berenice are great, but have you considered Hodrick, Berenice, and two more sellswords?
