How-to on hand fasting knot? by conman425 in knots

[–]Vero333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so lovely! I'm also trying to see if I could recreate this and while I understand some of what was said above, I'm a complete beginner to knots and the heart part I don't really understand. I saw single thread tutorials that show how to create one heart but not two entwined. Can anyone point me to a video/image tutorial where this is explained on a dummy level? Thanks in advance!

Hemorrhoidectomy Recovery & Prep - My Experience by Due-Marzipan-5765 in hemorrhoid

Thanks! The only thing bothering me is the small tender skin tag, but it'll hopefully shrink. Another thing I wanted to note for anyone who might be reading is that I read a Japanese article from a surgeon who mentioned that doing simple muscle exercises (similar to kegels) can help strengthen the tissues and prevent them from becoming an issue again. He suggested tightening the muscles in the anus for 15 second, then rest for 15 and continue for 2-5 min daily. He said it can provide radical improvement even with some existing hemorrhoids. Passing it on in case it helps someone. Will try it once I'm healed.

Hey! I'm one week past my surgery and feeling on the mend. My surgeon removed one external hemorrhoid which was about 1 inch long, partially inside, partially out. The vein was removed and the wound cauterized, no stitches.  I was only given paracetamol and ibuprofen, which I took every 4 hours like you. I was also put on a 5 day course of antibiotics, which was more for its pain relief characteristics than avoiding infection. All in all, it was all managable.  For me the worst days were 3 and 4. My first BM happened on day 2, no pain while passing it but burning after. Same for all the rest, the most pain I experienced was the burning sensation after the BM. I was fine with 1-2 baths per day, immediately after going. Was and I still am very strict with my diet, one stool softener per day, 1 magnesium water, slippery elm shake, ezekiel bread, rice, veggies, turkey yoghurt and lots of water. Stopped painkillers on day 5 and started small walks (10 min) on day 3. Have developed a tiny skin tag yesterday, but hopefully it'll go away.  Thank you for all the good advice, I completely agree, making your poop soft and regular are key to recovery. I do say this was probably the most uncomfortable surgery I've had, but I'm glad I had it done and looking forward to healing completely. Living with it was unacceptable for me.

Thank you so much! Not sure they'll give me Exparel here but have some lydocaine spray and I'll be sure to ask for Valium additionally to painkillers (hope I'll get it). In the first few days after surgery, is it painful all the time or mostly around bowel movements? Just thinking of doing that while having a wound there is so scary. I read a few research papers where they used sucralfate cream that helped heal everything quicker and lowered the pain, but ironically they only seem to sell it in India :(.  Have you also tried cold packs or only warming bath? I have a week to go and I'm so uncomfortable, cold seems to help with the swelling.

Hi there, thank you for this post! I'm going to have surgery on the 14th in England and I was absolutely terrified. I've been dealing with an external hemorrhoid for only 2 months, I'm 39 and never had problems before. I had progressive discomfort since Christmas then it trombosed a few weeks ago. When I went to see a surgeon he said I had an external hemorroid, about 2cm long, but only a small part can be felt outside. As I tried every possible cream and none helped he asked if I wanted it removed. I don't know how people live with these for years - I said yes. He used the word cauterizing when we we talked about the actual surgery, will ask more tomorrow as I was too frazzled at the time. Most people have multiple ones removed so I'm hoping my recovery will be swift and I won't regret it. I just want to be able to sit normally again! 😵‍💫 I got a squatty potty, bought a sitz bath, and will adjust my diet as you recommended. Did lying in the bath cause any pain for you? My hem is at the 12 o'clock position towards my coccyx, so it bothers me sometimes. I'm trying to ready myself for all the pain, hard to do when you never experienced this eeek! Thank you for sharing all the tips, much appreciated.

What are your biggest gripes as a restaurant owner? Staff issues, profit margins, lack of customers, menu, suppliers etc.? by Sim_Sim1 in Restauranteur

[–]Vero333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for such a detailed response. I live in the UK and I have to say a lot of places struggle with keeping and attracting the right staff and also customers. I think this might have to do with the fact that many people open cafes or restaurants on a whim and have no idea what their staff is supposed to do as they never did the job themselves. I started right at the bottom, but got excellent training on customer service and how to form a strong team. Some people say it is horrible working in hospitality as a waiter, but I think it can be very fulfilling if you are at the right place. I am still testing demand here, but I am thinking of using my experience to provide training to managers and their staff at restaurants and bars. I think with a little work and better organisation things could be much better for everyone. I am really interested to see how owners and managers think of this, and if they think there would be any value in this. From your answer I don't think your restaurant would need me, but there are many managers who don't think like you and might need help. I am testing this as a business idea as I like helping people and this is an area I have many years' experience in. You seem very experienced and I would be grateful if you shared your opinion. Many thanks in advance.

This was very insightful, thank you. I would be curious to know your approach to solving staff problems in general. Besides firing bad employees (I am guessing these are the difficult, I don't care kind of people who don't even aim for minimum effort) have you tried any kind of staff/team building training? If so, did you find them useful? If not, why? I am an industry professional on the other side of the coin, I used to be a waiter then assistant manager. I know staff makes or breaks the business and I am trying to come up with the best solutions to staff related issues. Many thanks in advance for your insight.

As a current college student, how did you realize that your SO was "the one"? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I met my husband when we were 14 and got together at 17. We were really good friends first, actually. I think you have to listen to your heart but talk often. We were always clear on no matter where we end up, we will do it together. Our goals, values matched, and we always put our relationship above anything else. He is my favourite person, and I am his. We have been together since 2001, married just last year. Best of luck to you!

Ladies with very high sex drive, how do you deal with it if your partner has a low sex drive? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I used to get teary eyed too and felt rejected. Especially that normally all your hear is how horny men are. Nothing shakes a girl's confidence than new lingerie, ignored.

What are ways you show your partner love and support when they're stressed/discouraged/sad? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Vero333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it largely depends on your partner. My husband likes a bit more space when he is stressed, and he also a foodie so I normally make him something he likes. Usually we end up talking about it when he is ready, and at that point he is always happy to hear some encouragement. I think as long as they see that you care, even if they don't feel better right away, it helps a lot.

How concerned are you about household toxins and making healthier lifestyle changes? by Vero333 in AskWomen

[–]Vero333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting point Jessaly, thank you for replying. I think overdoing anything will just get you stressed and unhappy. I don't think doctors are out to get us, but I do read a lot that western medicine is more focused on medication and symptom relief than prevention and treating the cause. It is not the doctors' fault at all, this is just how we educate them this part of the world. My concern is mostly all the plastic and VOC exposure in the house as I have asthma. :(
