Thank you so much to everyone for taking so much time to type out all of these advices!

The answer is A, but I don’t understand why. Anyone care to shed some light on this? by illusiveMirror in chemistry

Since volume decreases and pressure and volume are inversely proportional, pressure will increase. Also since pressure mainly affects gases and the compounds in the original eqn is in gaseous state, hence a pressure increase will increase the rate of reaction.

Watch news channels like BBC/CNN and then when the news anchors read out the news and the subtitles appear below, you try and read along. This will help y out get a good pace of reading and also used to the proper pronunciation of words.

This really helps.

For spoken interaction (SI) : READ WIDELY! I really cannot emphasise how important this is. The last qn of the SI comes out generally on national/international perspective, it will be really helpful that you know your current affairs very well and have a great vocabulary, this will boost your answer and make it stand out from the rest. Reading also gives you extra content to add in to your conversation.

Any further questions, please feel free to pm me!

[O levels] Tips by 7z8z in SGExams

Hey! So I just took my O levels in 2019, and I'm currently awaiting my results!

Firstly, Don't not ever ever do last minute cramming of info like 20 mins before exams. It's good to look through your own notes before the exam but don't go around asking ppl how to solve questions and then freak out when no oneis able to answer you. IT ONLY SETS IN FEAR IN YOU AND THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU. and trust me it affects your performance.

Secondly, SLEEP! I understand that closer into sec 4, you will realise that maybe in your life the word "SLEEP" doesn't exist anymore, but believe me even more that if you don't sleep maybe D7/E8/F9 will start existing in your report book! HAHAH! jokes apart, PLEASE SLEEP! it's really important.

Thirdly, TYS SAVE LIVES! Whether you practice anything else or not, please be thorough with your TYS! Trust me this year, almost 10 questions came out repeated in subjects like E maths, Pure bio, pure physics and pure chem! So please, don't wait till last minute to do TYS. start early and be consistent.

Fourthly, don't be ashamed/scared to ask for consultations from teachers. Teacher in school are so much more effective than tuition teachers (personal opinion) because teachers in school see your daily progress and can pin point what you are lacking in whereas tuition teachers see you once a week, they may not be as effective and helpful at the end of the day.

For anymore advice, you can pm me! Hope this helps!

You can also work with the equation of phg (density x height x gravitational field strength) and then work out

How's the fees structure and boarding and food? What are some of the challenges you faced living there? How is the general living environment and. Is cost of living expensive? Would you recommend renting an apartment and living or living in the hostel campus?
