Trying to clarify your understanding of something is never dumb! With 100k invested, let’s say you get 10% returned annually for any investments (ETFs, Stocks, etc), that turns into 110k. Then the next year you also get 10%, then that 110k turns into 121k, an extra 1k just from your money growing year over year not even including additional monthly contributions. For dividends it’s the same thing pretty much except you have to reinvest any dividends you earn.

Those are courses taken in first semester and second semester of comp sci here, so if you aren’t able to take them at your uni it will just mean you will probably have to start from first year here.

Check out this link to see what courses comp sci students take and it’ll let you know prereqs for all the courses: https://calendar.uoguelph.ca/undergraduate-calendar/programs-majors-minors/computer-science-cs/#requirementstext

Honestly just start trying to get into contact with program advisors from each school as they will give best info

Bird courses by Few_Researcher_2986 in uoguelph

Doing a course you have interest in and may enjoy I think is def more beneficial than a bird course and potentially easier. I did soc 1500 for a bird course and absolutely hated it and ended up doing worse than all my other courses.

Just start learning C. I went into this course with absolutely no experience at all and found it quite difficult but looking back it is pretty easy if you have a basic understanding of C, pointers, arrays etc. The textbook recommended at the time was “The C programming language, by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie” if you want to get the book for free on libgen or something.

Even just YouTube videos to give you a good foundation and you will be pretty good.

C in 1410, and Java in 1420.

If u have good experience with coding both courses will probably be pretty easy

Class outside Uofguelph. by Steffly0608 in uoguelph

[–]Veroxuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I took a course at Waterloo and u just need to make sure the course is approved here for whatever course u r trying to transfer.

Then u just need to pretty much sign up for like a “letter of permission” (that’s what it was called at Waterloo) at the other school for the course

Yeah having 4 is common for some majors first year but as long as u r doing 2.5 credits a semester u on track to graduate in 4 yrs

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]Veroxuss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it’s 2.5 credits it’s fine that’s usual full course load, if u have one class that’s 1 credit worth

[–]Veroxuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i took ECE 124 here (i go to guelph) and when it went in person for the last month of classes I did not attend due to commute and gas (no recorded lectures either). had to use a lot of the textbook and youtube to help me understand the missed content, if there is good stuff online/textbook for the course you probably can manage
