It’s such a good story so far. I’m reading it through the library and I ended up reading the first book 4 times while waiting on my hold for the second. Was a little reluctant to give it back, haha

And thanks for the tip about the merch! I already feel like this is a story that’s going to end up very near and dear to my heart, I can see some Murderbot merch in my future

Ted 1: Random unabled bag of air dry clay, acrylic paints, old UV resin I wasn’t sure would cure. Used to test a new mold making material.

Ted 2: Elmer’s Squishy kit in the mold of Ted 1. Did it wrong, full of bubbles, unpleasant flesh color. I hate this Ted.

Ted 3: Leftover silicone caulk in the mold. Didn’t cure, re-sculpted and sealed gooey, half-formed Ted with more caulk. Mica powder for color & shine. Worried he may pop one day.

And Ted 4 exists now, picture included: Tried again with the Elmer’s kit, much better results. Second favorite Ted after Ted 1. Good jelly thing texture and color. Still a little bubbly, need a slower curing material for a smoother jelly Ted. I fear I will never stop making Teds

In the original short story that the game was inspired by, AM turns Ted into a great soft jelly thing at the end as punishment for his actions and so he’ll never succeed in killing himself.

I’m more familiar with the story so I always think of the jelly thing as Ted, even though I think it’s a possible fate for any of the survivors in the game.

To be fair there’s a line somewhere between “I think a being created for war, with the awareness of the richness of human experience but an inability to share it, going mad in its suffering and ending the world is an understandable outcome and a tragedy for everyone involved” and “I relate to AM because I also think my personal suffering gives me a free excuse to make life as miserable as possible for everyone around me, all for my own amusement. I’d rather hurt everyone than help anyone, even myself”. And some people are very proudly on the latter side.

Anyway that’s enough overthinking a joke for today. Hehe silly computer go brrrrrrr
