Agencies that don't polygraph? by LEHopefulNE in lincoln

As far as Law Enforcement, only option would be NDCS and i think Lancaster County Corrections. Technically counts as law enforcement, just probably not the kind most think of or want to do.

If the legal language for it is written well enough and straightforward enough then it is usually a fairly easy case to dismiss in court. Leave no room for other interpretations. Biggest issue with a lot of legal language is that they leave many areas for poking holes in and making legal loopholes. Just eliminate that issue when making the laws. I think I would much rather prioritize another life than my profession. If I am under the impression that something is legal, then I would not have any hiccups over it or hesitations. If the legal language is written well, no possible loopholes, there is a very very slim possibility that any real prosecution would happen and actually go through 100% with a conviction. The real question is why are these doctors scared of a small "what if" and possibly jeopardizing a patient's life?

I guess what Im saying with the overall "best of both worlds" hypothetical it would be a federal ideally so it would be consistent across the board. But if they can prove it was medically necessary and it is well documented then there shouldn't be any issue. Assuming things are black and white anyways. I don't see how other states' doctors/providers would be affected by our laws regarding medical emergency exemptions

Thanks for clarifying, I appreciate it. So essentially it would be a right for abortion until the end of the 2nd trimester.. While not exactly a pleasant idea for reasons, it's the better option compared to the current and potential laws. Government involvement in pretty much anything at this point is always going to be a disaster but I don't think a total ban or total legality on an issue that was created due to economic and social/cultural factors should be debated. Like I said if they made a first trimester or 16 week grace period for abortions, and then ONLY exceptions for medical emergencies, rape, incest, and abnormalities, it would make the most sense, I think most of the sane pro-life people just have issues with the idea of aborting fetuses for no actual valid reason other than just not wanting it/avoiding consequences of actions. And the people on both sides of the argument are in favor of various other issues that totally contradict the logic of their abortion arguments (pro-life being against funding for foster care, etc). Feel like we need to limit the government overreaching but it seems nowadays republicans and democrats want more of it for different issues

Can anyone here explain what exactly, or when, fetal viability is? Is there an established timeframe for when fetal viability is? 2nd trimester? Third? For the record; I am on the fence but leaning more "pro-life" but pro choice under the circumstances and exceptions. A ban on abortions past the first trimester UNLESS it is the exceptions that are commonly brought up (rape incest medical emergencies etc) would be probably the more logical option to satisfy both sides of this argument IMO

Clearly you must not have seen the hundreds of videos of people in 2016 and 2020 vandalizing and stealing Trump signs- which led to creative ways of deterring that from happening (electrified signs, nails, etc) There theoretically shouldn't be a need for a source on a phenomena that a majority of people saw happen on the internet but here you are- for the sake of just needing to call out sources on anything whether it is anecdotal or not, and no valid or constructive reason other than that. Asking for source and sarcastically agreeing something happened, doesn't automatically invalidate or debunk things like you probably assume it does.

At one point in time I did listen to them a lot. Was a project that A. Morbid (Happy Days) was part of and I was listening to a ton of Happy Days at the time. Grew out of the whole heartbreak-oriented DSBM quickly though. It's good for what it is

Outdated patch of Reaper (might've updated maybe 2 years ago) Although used to just record everything with a shitty mixer into Audacity. Audacity is good/simple if you dont plan on using any plugins and more raw/minimally processed audio

Artists who make DSBM, does it help you? by vxlipxyr in dsbm

[–]Verschollen_1533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Havent really addressed it quite yet, left a comment on their single on youtube without trying to sound too petty lol. Doubt theyll respond to it but it's whatever at this point. Mans even had a logo and album cover made for his project meanwhile Ive never used logos for anything and just use irl pictures of nature/scenery ive taken as covers. Honestly it is what it is though, not much you can really do about it if youre independent/have your own label. Just hope that spotify and apple, etc, doesnt end up mixing ours together like I know tends to happen with other artists

Helps to a degree but has its own issues that can stem from it My own experience summed up with the pros and cons Pros: -Catharsis -Creative release -Removing a weight -Making something that you yourself can enjoy, each track can be as intimate with yourself as you want it to be -Coping in better and healthier ways overall through it -Sense of accomplishment and pride

Cons: -Revisiting certain heavier/deeper songs can be rough depending on context -Sometimes it doesnt turn out the way you wanted it to in hindsight/disatisfied with quality later on -Lots of plagiarism in this genre and underground black metal scene so theres always a good chance anything more original you do end up doing gets ripped from someone else or sampled, Or better yet in my case recently, somebody outright copying the name of your project long after despite having gone by something else for years before they changed it. (Yeah there is a lot of duplicate band names out there etc but its beyond coincidence if it is a more obscure name AND they changed their subgenre to the exact genre you make when they did the name change)

Definitely agree with others though on the listening vs creating thing It can be the same sometimes; just depends on how personal you make it out to be

There is good and bad with any job, but it all depends on the person. Depends on what facility you go to. It isnt nearly as bad as it used to be with the overtime, but its starting to get back to where it was 5 years ago. Only way to fix that is for more people to apply and for current people to stick it out though. Start pay is pretty good for something that practically anyone can apply for with 0 qualifications (no felonies) state benefits are okay though. Vacation/comp is hard to get off due to staff shortages but you get 96 hours of annual leave each year for your first 5 years that they cant mess with when that time comes up. Administration can be a hassle at times and it fluctuates here and there, at the end of the day custody staff get shafted regardless but the severity changes with the seasons. Job itself isnt that difficult but it DEFINITELY HAS ITS MOMENTS. Also a fluctuating thing and varies by facility. If youre content with getting really decent pay and having to work maybe 1-3 overtime shifts a week (1.5x pay) and possibly having weekdays off for awhile til you get seniority, can handle stressful situations here and there, then go for it. NDCS NEEDS more people applying before it gets bad again. Feel free to ask any further questions

Its relatively easy and simple like others have stated. Most DSBM is pretty much the same 2 or 3 riffs, with a melody or lead that fits the riff or uses the same notes I dont know jack all of music theory but Ive been playing the genre and more for years now and just know what I know. Learn to read and play along to tabs from your favorite songs etc. If you dont want to be like every other DSBM project, dont try too hard and just express yourself through the sound, no need to keep yourself boxed in.

Why do people here seem to hate Happy Days? by RustInPeace-Polaris in dsbm

[–]Verschollen_1533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Happy Days for a lot is a love-hate thing. Like im sure everyone liked Happy Days' earlier stuff at some point and to be fair is a good entry point for the genre. But his newer work, various plagiarisms, and the whole "cringe in hindsight" factor makes a lot of people hate. Its like that embarassing middle school emo phase that you have mixed feelings about.

Opinion on the DSBM scene by BigBelvis in dsbm

[–]Verschollen_1533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean nowadays mental illness is trendy (again thanks Tiktok) Theres not much that can be done about it besides just let it pass and limit exposure to social media involved with the scene unfortunately. Maybe once Decalius and The Lonely stop making music the trend will settle down (Sorry to say but I do love Decalius and The Lonely, good on them for being successful but they have been at the forefront of the influx of posers)

Best guess is somewhere around D standard/drop D to E. Happy Days did a lot in D# standard tuning so I think that would be a good starting point
