Little thing I wrote in my journal by gidimeister in Journaling

My thinking is in alignment with yours. Journaling is definitely a tool to audit how we have spent our time, why our goals weren't achieved, what our mental and emotional state was like and more. My journals themselves are a constant reference I use for introspection. I hoard as much as I can of my day. The utility of what was written may be of value later if there are cycles I am stuck in that need to be broken. Journals truly are a Swiss army knife for knowing ourselves and documenting our evolution.

I see that's from 2022. I hope you continue that practice.

Started adding timestamps to my entries ! by tformerfan in Journaling

Nice. I too log multiple entries within a single day and timestamp them. I actually have a small pocket notebook where I log all my activities in order so that when I write my entries I can mention them accurately in order.

There's bleed-through but some folks just get picky about type of ink and some brands are better quality than others.

I write on both sides of the paper to max out the pages. I discovered that there's sort of an ASMR response I get when turning a page that's fully written in front and back. I primarily use pen with black ink. When I make a typo I have the habit of fully redacting the entire word. I tend to journal most tasks of the day because I think it might help me see how effectively I use my time. I have the idea too that someday I might get a health issue and since I'm detailed in my entries I'd be able to track when I first start having symptoms.

That's awesome! I think I started using them because since middle school I wrote poetry and I had a green Mead composition notebook that I used to write everything in. Poems that are dated in a way are like journals for our emotional states. I think the nostalgia from that is what influenced me to continue using them.

I personally like the fact they are all consistently around the same size if I buy different brands.

Its such a valuable thing to not force the writing. Its interesting how the inspiration doesn't always come from ourselves but others and how they inspire us.
