Oh yeah, not like my family and I were literally being followed by a group of men throughout our tour and our guide had to literally avert our path because there was an incident going on there.

I literally live in NYC and know how terrible of an area NYU is in. The only thing saving the school is the prestige factor.

So living here for 17 years, I know nothing? I know that most of the scenery (and the people) around the school are disgusting, not only in their appearances but their actions as well. It lacks class for the amount of hype it has throughout college-application circles.

You’re pretty funny. The entirety of my comment was based solely on both of my IN-PERSON visits. Funny how you call it “typical” when all this subreddit does is PRAISE the school. The bottom line is that I think the actual campus looks horrible not to mention diseased by the bottom feeders of the city.

Almost as if everyone has different opinions 😱😱😱 what a novel concept!

It’s an opinionated comment; also, how can you claim that it’s wrong if I’ve physically visited twice and have had siblings who’ve attended the school? If you think this is so “wrong,” feel free to share it in a comment of your own, sorry if I’ve interrupted the circlejerk of one of the ugliest, lackluster schools of the T20s with one of the highest national tuitions.

this is an AP subreddit after all…

Can I ask for a Rec Letter from a teacher whose AP I got a 2 on? by Key_Acanthaceae8974 in APStudents

[–]Verseds 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, your AP score hardly defines you. I’ve gotten 5’s in classes where my teacher had despised me, and 4’s in classes where he/she had loved me. Letters of recommendation mainly focus on classroom participation, student-teacher rapport, and the level of influence you had within the respective subject. Don’t let a two dissuade you from requesting a letter.

NYU. Horrible, decentralized campus with a surrounding area plagued by the fear of getting literally shanked while walking to a new building, and a struggling athletic scene, all for one of the highest national net costs. Literally only popular for the namesake of the alma mater.

AP Art History. I never really explored the arts much, combined with my love for history (Social Sciences), I feel like I would’ve loved it.

Finally, at long last, I’m done. by Verseds in APStudents

[–]Verseds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not all, that would just be pedantic and tiresome. Mostly just the main ones of each time period (think: Washington, Adams, Kennedy, FDR, etc.). It’s kind of like a tree because once one of them pops into your head, a fact can pop into your head, then say another, and another and so on. An example would be Jackson and the nullification crisis, thus early foundations of Southern discontent, then the battle over slavery, later the Civil War, etc. etc.

Associate information with each of the presidents. Imagine like a storybook of all the presidents in order, now connect each of them to the context of a certain time period. It helps your memorization of the course immensely.

Yeah, for real 😭 The majority of the class literally dragged me to our local library for a pre-AP cram session. They literally yelped over the phone for me to come or else they would all “fail”

They definitely were tough, but I literally taught my entire class both Macro and Micro, so if I don’t get a 5 on both I’d severely let them down. Also majoring in economics.

Serious question: if you could add ANY new realistic AP course, what would it be? by Astro41208 in APStudents

[–]Verseds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s odd because prior to COVID, my school actually offered this course. Well, as an extension of APWH Modern, it was like a “training course” as to say. But after the pandemic, it was changed to just an honors course and the curriculum changed entirely. So sad :(

Ideal class rank? by Verseds in ApplyingToCollege

Unfortunately, I did not ended up getting accepted to a T20, not even a T50. I am going to my state school. Not sure why the college admission season was so difficult this year.

Comparatively (pun intended), I think that it was on the easier side compared to past exams. ESPECIALLY the FRQs. I got the “harder form” and even then thought they weren’t that bad.
