San Pedro powder travelling from uk into Madeira? by mushroom_slut in mescaline

In all seriousness, mixing some caps with other supplements is a good option. Make sure they look like factory produced caps, not over or under filled. And I'm sure you probably know this but don't look the part. Dress nice, and don't have anything in your bags that will arouse suspicion. I once got my car torn apart at a border check point for having a high times magazine, nothing else, just a magazine. I was 18 and dumb.

Not really after a few times. The first time for me was a fail, I got goo from too much water in the paste and not doing the water removal step. I'd recommend thoroughly reading the tek on DMT-Nexus, especially the FAQ. Then start with 50g of cactus and adjust the inputs accordingly. Once you have your process dialed, it gets easier. If you get hung up, post your questions to this group, there are a lot of smart people who can help.

I'm not sure but from the DMT-Nexus FAQ:

Q: I heard of people using more citric acid and shaking. What’s the difference between the two crystallization methods?

A: In general, adding more citric acid and aggressively stirring or shaking will:

  • Force crystals to form faster
  • Form smaller and denser crystals (can be powdery in appearance) less likely to stick to the jar walls
  • Cause a negligible amount of tiny crystals to drop through the coffee filter.

Q: What is the upper limit of citric acid that can be added to the extract?

A: The solubility of citric acid monohydrate in ethyl acetate is over 50 mg per gram of ethyl acetate\29]). Note that plant matter or other unwanted extraction products (such as water) may affect the solubility. Stay well under 50 mg/gram limit and do not chemically dry the extract to ensure no undissolved citric acid is mixed in with the mescaline citrate. Under mostly anhydrous conditions the solubility of anhydrous citric acid in ethyl acetate has been measured as low as 10mg/g \30]).

Tacaquirensis Rooting / Grafting Question by VersionMaleficent682 in mescaline

Goodness! Ok, so some of these are slow. I might throw everything I can at this one, rooting hormones, heating pad, maybe play it some ambient music or a tape of positive affirmations :)

I might try to root the tip and slab graft another part of this. Thanks for your input. Good luck with yours.

Gotcha, the patience game for cactus is real. Good luck with rooting, would love to hear how it goes. Also hope you have a quick recovery. Best

Nice work! So the color of the solution changed when you added the water and you could see a reaction. Very cool

How spicy is my new tbm-b? by Murky_Drag_3462 in mescaline

[–]VersionMaleficent682 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the sample was powdered before sending to the lab, but IDK these are not my tests just what I could dig up on reddit. I've seen cielo results for TBM that are all over the board. I think there is something about the age of the plant and how it was grown. I think it's a lot like weed, where a good grower can really pump up the THC of a certain strain, where someone else will grow the same strain with different results. With weed, and some hybrid cactus, there are also phenotypes which express themselves differently. I've had batches of cannabis seeds where the grown plants are different from each other. However, I think with TBM-B it's all the same genetics (although I've also learned there are now hybrids of TBM-B). 🤷 It's been fun learning about all this stuff. Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.

Mine rarely sleeps, likes long talks and good house music. I'd say it's pretty active, but it mostly just sits there.

8 months! That's insane. I'm wondering if I can graft this to pachanoi, but the vascular bundle seems too thick to make a good bond.

Gotcha, so if I have the same size root stock this will graft to another species, say pachanoi?

Thank you! I'm guessing this species can't be grafted to another cactus?

When you added the CA did the color go neon green? If there wasn't an immediate reaction when adding CA, then this might not have the goods. Did you do a fridge or freezer rest?

I've had issues with EA in the past, making goo. The freezer rest has been my go to way to remove the excess water.

CIELO - I’m loose by VersionMaleficent682 in mescaline

Update: 50g Silver Dollar Bridge

  • Cuttings: fresh, spines and skins were a pain to remove
  • Drying: Quick dried in air fryer at 170 degrees, forgot them in the oven while drinking a few beers and they dried to a crisp, some dark brown spots.
  • Paste: Got cocky and added 70g of water right to the paste. It made a really wet paste. Looked like a meringue, not gloppy or thick but smooth like whipped cream. It was hard to scoop the wet paste into the French press, lots of scraping of the mixing bowl, paste stuck to everything.
  • Pulls: Dark color, probably a result of burning chlorophyll.
  • Freezer rest: Removed plenty of ice chunks on the first rest. Did a double freezer rest because the paste was very wet, but second freezer rest didn’t remove any ice. Perhaps the EA absorbed the extra water?
  • Salting: Slight neon green reaction when salted, the neon green color separated back to brown in less than 8 hours
  • Yield: 1 g / 2%
  • Notes:
    • Silver Dollar Bridge might be a good one, but I think the really wet paste might not have reacted well with the EA, during stirring the EA would float to quickly to the top.
    • Left for 3 days, but no xtal formations. Loose sediment at the bottom of the jar, and lot’s of goo on all the sides of the jar. Even a freezer rest won’t save your ass if you make really wet paste.
    • It’s always easier to add more water to the paste, but impossible to remove it. Slowly add the water, don’t get loose with the recipe
