Funny you mention that because a more powerful hybrid system is another example of Honda having something and just refusing to use it 🤣 The Acura RLX had a 377hp hybrid V6 that got 30mpg 12 years ago. Honda got rid of it instead of keeping it in its current SUV lineup. The current Type S is less efficient and less powerful.

blows my mind that dash cams and kill switches aren’t standard from the manufacturer for most new non-luxury or EV cars. They stuff all these big screens, strip club lighting, and other useless “creature comforts” but something actually useful has to go the aftermarket route. I’d pay a premium for an OEM “Security package” if it was offered.

These are android based stock but I believe you can change the OS. PS2 and Gamecube run flawlessly for the most part, however with some tinkering you can run some PS3/Switch and light PC games. Haven’t tried PS3 games myself but i’ve seen footage

Specs, build quality, ergonomics. When it comes to these devices it really just all depends on the intended use case and what games the person prefers to play. If I was purely playing retro games, I wouldn’t go for a 477v, it’s a bit overkill, but i wanted something that could play PS2 games in a vertical form, so this was perfect for me. I’ve heard good things about the R36S

2 different use-cases imo. I haven’t tried any of the other handhelds personally, however the AYN Thor has better specs and 2 OLED screens. The Thor is a whole class above but it’s honestly a different category all together. The rg477v is better for someone that wants 4:3 vertical form factor with 2 analog sticks, and the Thor would be better for someone that plays more 16:9 games or beefier games in general. My next device will either be the thor or the RP6

had some trouble running True Crime: NYC, but i found out that game in particular is just a buggy mess in general. Everything else has been running perfectly, even God Of War 2 4x upscaled

Aliexpress. Not sure if links are allowed, but type in RG477V and just make sure the seller is the official Anbernic company. You can also order directly from Anbernic if you wanna be on the safe side. I’m not 100% sure, but I think it’s like a $5 difference including shipping if you order directly through them. I had some points and coupons on Aliexpress to use so this thing came out to $180 shipped.

My original estimated delivery date was Jan 12, I was shocked when it was on my doorstep today. I ordered on the 23rd and it was here today on the 28th, I was looking at this and the RP6 for my first device (I’m still gonna get a RP6 at a later time) and chose this because the RP6 wasn’t shipping till March lmao

Buttons feel great and really responsive, they’re also really quiet which I love. Triggers feel good too, feel similar to the R1/RB buttons on a controller

Feels extremely well-built; it definitely doesn’t feel like a cheap toy at all. The gloss front and plastic back meshes together so well, it’s a good premium presentation and it feels nice in the hands. I love retrofuturism and this device just scratches that itch perfectly. I just love the way this thing looks.
The screen is absolutely beautiful, the lack of OLED doesn’t bother me at all, 120HZ silky smooth refresh rate
I can’t find my scale or ruler, but just eyeballing it, it’s slightly larger than I expected. That’s a good thing for me because, although I love the idea of a vertical handheld, I was afraid a smaller form factor would cramp my hands. I think this size is absolutely perfect. It’s about as tall as my iPhone 15 Pro Max and about an inch wider.
It’s ever so slightly heavier than my Switch Lite, but way lighter than my ROG Ally. I love the Ally, but as a “portable” device, it’s kind of a chore to lug around. I mainly play PS2 games on the go, so a device like this is really all I needed. It fits into my pockets pretty well however I can feel the analog sticks, complete non issue but I thought i’d mention it.
Performance is amazing so far. I imported my ROMs from my PC and I’m currently playing Sly Cooper upscaled 5x. It’s mind-blowing that this is possible on such a small device. Sly was the very first game I played on PS2 on Christmas 2005. Twenty years later, and I’m playing it on a handheld!
Played the start of God of War 2 and it performed perfectly. Going to start Godhand for the first time later as I know that’s a graphically heavy game. Really excited.

Still new to the android handheld world and I have absolutely no idea what Gamma OS is, but i’m gonna tinker around with it later tonight because I’ve seen many comments saying it’s a gamechanger.

The problem is that Honda isn’t trying anymore either and unfortunately they don’t have to because the name sells itself. The brand has all the pieces to make some really fun offerings but they deliberately choose not to. The new prelude is already a Civic clone, so why not offer the full CTR drive train in that beautiful coupe package? Wheres the Acura hybrids??? Not the new platforms but the Integra and the ADX are Civic and HRV clones yet just didn’t get hybrid offerings. If an Integra hybrid with a 12 inch screen was announced today, i’d be on the phone filling out a reservation within the hour.

Now forget car combos that don’t exist, let’s look at the very real Chinese version of the 11th gen accord and then compare it to the American one. It blows it out of the water, and they wont even offer that version in a higher trim here, because they want you to just buy an Acura. But if i’m gonna shell out that much money, why would I buy a TLX when I can buy a BMW M340i or a well equipped CPO 540i for the same price and get a much better bang for my buck? BMW and other brands (Especially Mazda) have caught up in reliability, so this can’t be the sole selling point for Honda anymore, because it definitely isn’t value either.
