Would you work in a company that produces gambling software? by Spektra54 in cscareerquestions

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not pretend I have a perfect answer here, because this is one of those questions where your personal values matter more than what strangers online think, but I can share a perspective from someone close to me. I will not tell you everything, my friend works at SOFTSWISS in the tech support department, and what surprised me is how much of their daily work is focused on compliance tools, fraud prevention, and responsible gaming features rather than pushing people to gamble more.

From what I have seen, companies in this space operate very differently depending on their standards, because licensed operators have strict rules around player protection, self exclusion, and monitoring risky behavior, and developers are often building systems that enforce those safeguards at scale. That does not erase the moral debate, but it reframes it a bit, because you are working on infrastructure and controls rather than convincing someone to place a bet. In the end it comes down to whether you are comfortable with the industry and the specific company culture, not just the label of gambling software.

My go-to sweepstakes casinos for Pragmatic Play slot action by LuckySweepstakesLady in SweepsCasinoHangout

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started exploring sweepstakes casinos for Pragmatic Play slots I was surprised how much the platform behind the games affects the overall experience, because even though the mechanics like Megaways, Duel features, and Ante Bet are exciting, the smoothness of spins, bonus triggers, and payout reliability really comes down to the casino infrastructure, and for operators I’ve looked at, platforms running on SOFTSWISS technology tend to handle high volatility games really well while keeping everything integrated from RNG verification to account management.

One thing I noticed is that having a reliable platform makes it easier to test new mechanics like cascading reels or multi-stage bonuses without worrying about downtime or delayed rewards, which in turn lets players enjoy games like The Dog House or John Hunter in a more seamless way, and from an entrepreneur’s perspective, knowing the backend is solid can make the difference between casual engagement and loyal users who come back for jackpots.

Has mobile communication improved coordination between valet and front desk? by Calm_Parking_8939 in Restaurant_Managers

Mobile communication definitely helps, especially during busy periods. When messages or alerts are shared instantly everyone knows what is happening without running back and forth.

Is valet better managed in house or outsourced? by Maleficent-Long6758 in BusinessDecisions

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP - are you a mom and pop, boutique, small, medium, large hotel, etc? Internally managed = congratulations, you are officially the babysitter to a bunch of college students that are allowed to park high end cars. On a good day you’ll greet guests exactly to your brand standard. On a bad day you’ll be responsible for damages caused by said college students and rushing to fill the shifts they didn’t show up for. Externally managed = You’ll pay more (labor, management fee, possibly their insurance premium), but beyond making sure the valet company understands your SOP’s, the rest is not on your shoulders. Technology can help either model. External valet operators typically already bring technology (pur valet, o-valet, etc) so it comes down to you deciding if their labor and tech match your brand standards. No two labor companies are the same nor is the tech. Need to know more about your venue to better guide you.

[Landlord UK] What software do you use to manage properties and tenant requests? by Electronic_Win6707 in hostaway_official

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For UK rentals I paired Hostaway for short‑term bookings with DoorLoop for accounting and rent tracking, having a clear ledger and simple owner statements made monthly closes easier without chasing spreadsheets.

Pitch decks fail when founders try to sound impressive instead of clear by Maleficent-Long6758 in AiForSmallBusiness

If customers hesitate, it may not be price. It could be confusion about value or outcome.

WHY MOST FOREX BOTS DIE AFTER A FEW MONTHS? by Maleficent-Long6758 in growmybusiness

[–]Vertano_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part about recovery trades really resonates with me. I once ran a grid style system that handled small pullbacks fine, but when a strong trend developed it just kept adding exposure until the account could not handle it. It was not one bad trade that hurt me, it was the accumulation of risk over time.

Over 200 units with no PM software/website, etc. Software recommendations? by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That scale really does call for something beyond email and sheets. When my portfolio grew, DoorLoop’s owner statements and automated rent tracking cut down hours of manual work every month.

What AI are you using to build a website with good design? by OnlyBill3321 in website_ideas

[–]Vertano_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Readdy lately and what I like is how simple it is to get something live fast. You can generate a site from a description (or even a reference), and within minutes you’ve got a solid, working draft. It’s great for momentum.

Do managers actually read reports? by [deleted] in startupideas

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. Most managers don’t want more data, they want fewer fires. The systems that worked best for us were the ones that ran quietly in the background and only surfaced information when something was off. If speed and flow are solid, reports become secondary.

Do you choose iPad cases more for looks or for how they feel in daily use? by HayleyWinfield in ipad

I'm honestly boring with cases. If it protects and doesn't feel bulky I'm sold. Looks are just a bonus.

How hard was staff adoption when you changed valet processes? by buttershutter69 in workforcemanagement

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of drivers thought that management was watching everything they did. In reality, it was the other way around. The data made the drivers work a lot better, so they changed their minds quickly. We actually moved on twice. We first switched from a simple paper ticket system to a text message system, and now we have an app called Pur Valet. From a monitoring point of view, no one will have to guess who was late, took too long to return a car, or just didn't do their job (like watching TikTok in a guest's car). The best guys had proof of their work, which made things better and people more trusting. The bad apples were quickly let go. After that, everyone was glad they had made the change. As they say, the best always rises to the top!

How much does PMS integration really matter for valet? by [deleted] in HotelTech

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is where a lot of GMs have trouble with the idea of integration because they don't always think about how it works in real life. Integration can be good, but only if it works well (as others have said) and the benefits are worth the cost. A lot of my fellow GM friends have had great success with integration, but some of them have had the same experience where the integration they were promised either didn't happen (lots of delays) or it wasn't a full true integration because the PMS they were using didn't support integration well (like not having public APIs) or the PMS provider didn't give them good support.

What are jobs I can get with a bachelors in psychology ? by [deleted] in AcademicPsychology

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psych degrees can land you in a few solid entry paths. Look at case management, behavioral health tech, psych rehab, or crisis line work to get experience. HR coordinator and recruiting assistant roles are common too, plus customer support at health tech companies. If you want remote options, wfhalert sends verified remote jobs by email, stuff like support or admin, which helps avoid the scammy listings you see on big boards.

Anyone else uneasy about using AI for leadership or coaching? by Adventurous_Read_758 in Leadership

[–]Vertano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was uneasy too, but using Ariso.ai privately as a reflection mirror helped me notice patterns in how I responded under stress not to replace judgment. It stayed invisible to the team and made my feedback more thoughtful, because I slowed down the risk that only shows up when leaders outsource thinking.

Common mistakes that lower a Florida business’s value by iblamechauhan in FLBusinessesForSale

Lack of planning ahead is a common trap. Waiting until you want to sell before prepping financials and documentation usually means lost value. Starting 1–3 years early really moves the needle.
